I have been using the Oddessey batteries for about 5 years now, and I'm pretty happy with them. They certainly hold a charge longer than normal lead acid batteries. But, I have heard that the new Lithium Ion (Lion) batteries are even better, but of course much more expensive. You get what you pay for basically. How long do you intend to own this bike?

Cheers, Phil

I don't know how long I will keep it. If I can ride it without needing surgery :) and love the bike, then I will have to sell my Triumph. I have three bikes at the moment and only the Triumph is on the road so garage space is very tight. Otherwise, if I have to sell the 907 someone is going to get a bike with some decent stuff on it!

I will have a serious look at the Odyssey batteries.

The AFAM chain and sprockets arrived early this morning. I only ordered them from http://www.biketorqueracing.co.uk/ yesterday. Excellent service!

' My neighbour has a Caravan that has a solar panel from Maplins that he uses to trickle charge his battery it is also suitable using the amp re dial on it to suit its use with a motorbike battery.'

I think I have a Maplins solar panel somewhere; never used it.
I seem to remember that it was too feeble to be of any use. I probably bought the wrong one, knowing me! (That's why I have been asking so many questions on here recently!)

I'll look into it.

Thanks English

the tyres I fitted to the bike 2yrs ago are theDunlop Sportmax Q2, and according to this video not a bad choice...double compound, steep tyre angle 50/50 road track design...all this technology might be wasted on the 907, but I think it is good insurance

Just throwing in my bit.

Just purchased a set of Bridgestone BT023 GT's. They are more for the bigger Sport/Touring, but was convinced by very good arguement.

The 907 came with a new battery, which is a Gel type. Brand name is MOTORBATT. Size is 19AH, which is about 140CCA.

Use a good quality regulator with the Solar Panel. We use a Sunsaver10 or 20 at work, and they are pretty much idiot proof. Panel goes to one set of terminals, battery to the next, load to the last set. No programming of the regulator required. It just works. The 10 is probably a bit big (Amp wise), but they come in less rated size.

Cheers.

Nick.

I bought a Varta battery in the end, from http://www.batteries4motorcycles.co.uk/

Cost = £52.97 which included the £9 delivery charge.

My decision was based on price, not knowing if, or how long, I will be keeping the bike, and speed of delivery.
I ordered it yesterday afternoon at 12.00 mid day and it arrived at 9.00am this morning. I am extremely pleased with the service and I'm sure the battery will be up to the job :) .

Next week - Tyres ! (Aaaarrrrgh , I hear you cry :D )
