Post subject: | Melted wiring |
Hello all, I am a new member to this forum and just bought a 92 Paso that I am semi restoring. I have it running good, but noticed that the main power wire under headlight is melted. I cut off connectors and sodered new connections on and after about 300 miles of riding noticed these started to melt again. I have cleaned all ground connections. Anyone have any suggestions how to fix this problem. Also my it idles around 2000 rpm now, but idled aroun 1000 when got running. Thanx, Jamie |

The stock connection are very poor. Many people weld the wires without connection... or fit better connections ![]() The engine has to idle around 1100 rpm. No more. You have to fix this issue with the engine warm. There are two by-pass screws, one for every cylinder, on the right side of the bike behind the rear fairing. Trim them until the engine idles right. May also be some broken strands in a wire. Look for anything that appears to have been kinked tightly. Could a higher wattage headlight bulb be the cause? |
