Post subject:  Left switch connector plugs

Hi all,

I'm looking to replace the 9 pin wiring connectors (male/female) used for the left switch.

Does anyone know if these connectors are obtainable?
They may be a standard connector or are they Ducati specific?

I know I can get cheap connectors to do the job but I am hoping to keep it original should I need to replace the switch again.

Cheers,
osapitacud

Personally I would replace the connector with the best quality replacemant you can find and buy another if you think you will have to replace it in the future, I am about to change all of mine as I have found that the pins seem to corrode and lose their connection far too easily. I have had a real problem with the tank connector especially.

If you wish to keep some degree of conformity then upgrade with a modern ducati replacement use the shell and body and wire it accordingly.

I can easily upgrade the plugs but thought that if original plugs were still around that would be the best option.

hi osapitacud,

As these connectors have an rather open structure I put a lot of petroleum jelly into them, which make lasting much longer.
I'm not sure you can get 9-pins sealed connectors. But maybe you can split it a 5-pole and a 4-pole sealed connector. not the most pretty solution, but effective.
I started to replace existing connectors with sealed ones to improve reliability.
Works well.
