Is there a thread on converting 907 w 300mm discs to 320? Adapters to be bought? Drawings? Pics? |

I don't see the need to swap from 300mm to 320mm front rotors. I have both the first and the later 907 and I can say the 907 with the 300mm rotors with a 999's radial master cylinder brakes better than the 907 with stock 320mm rotors and stock master cylinder. So, I'd buy a good master cylinder. Probably, it would cost less than the adapters or a couple of used forks. Ciao |

I asked only because it is so much easier to find replacement discs in 320 dimension. Standard on all 90`s ducs. |

It's true, but you can fit many Yamaha rotors, as FZR 600, TDM 850, etc. Ciao |

What EXACT 300mm rotors from another manuafactures can be fitted to 907IE (91*)??? If find such from some jap brand, it can be better solution, than make adopters to 300=>320 conversion! If someone knows suitable 300mm rotors WITH SAME OFFSET(!), let us know... ![]() |

All the Yamahas of the same period of the 907 have the same 300mm. rotors. They fit on '91 907 as mine. When I replaced my warped rotors, I found that those rotors were shared with the Yamaha FZR 600. In fact, they have the code 'YA' on them. I can't remember that code, but when I'll come back to my home I could tell it. Ciao |

So, does this mean, that if i buy from Italy set of Cagiva Freccia rotors, they fit 100% surely to my 91* 907 without any mods? How about connection to wheel? Is it same in all these rotors? I mean same amount of bolts with same measuremets? How about friction material? Are all same? Stainless steel(like in 907), or normal? Are Yamaha materials same, as Freccia have? Have anybody tried Freccia rotors? ![]() Frankie, do U have any fotos, how Your Yamaha rotors look alike? |

Antti yes, check the homepages of some aftermarket brake discs suppliers. Often you`ll find lists. I copied mine from LUCAS. Or check ebay auctions like this one and then search supllier lists for references http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAKE-DISCS-FZR400- ... 240%3A1318 or compare here the brake disc model numbers http://www.braking.de/braking.html?/mot ... 0-1991.htm? http://www.braking.de/braking.html?/mot ... 9-1991.htm? http://www.braking.de/braking.html?/mot ... 0-1991.htm? why don`t you believe us ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

And if you get lucky like I did, you may find a pair of the 300mm Brembo cast iron discs that are now out of production. Also, some of the new models of Ducati have 300 mm rotors, but i have forgotten which ones now. Same bolt pattern, same offset. (maybe Sort Classics?) The Yamaha rotors are really quite nice. Good braking, no pulsing, and good paint quality, and cheap. You can find them for cheap on e-bay. Lots of old FZR's being parted out. I have them on my Sport for the past 5 years now. I find that if you warm them up, they work a bit better, so I start my ride by dragging the front brake for a bit. I just haven't found the time to put on the cast iron rotors yet. I too was tempted to go to the 320 rotors, but then I found that 300mm rotors are actually cheaper since most people don't want them. And with good brake pads, and the correct master cylinder, they work great. Not as good as my ST4s, but close. Cheers, |
