I followed a few threads on this a year ago, then decided to do my own version. I was always uncomfortable with the lean angle of my 907IE on anything other than level pavement. I also didn't like the kickstand not meeting the ground parallel. I bought a block of 6061 aluminum on ebay for about $10, 1" thick by 2" by 3". I sliced the top to match the wear and out of parallel going on where it was to be clamped and welded to the original. I then tryed to TIG weld it myself

Then I brought it to a professional, who did a great job for $40. He said that the parts being welded need to be preheated with oxy-acteylene to within a few degrees of the melt temperature and then TIG welded. I then did a lot of band sawing, filing, and sanding to get a contoured look and as wide a pad on the ground as I could. I had to sand a little off the back surface to clear my exhaust. Overall the lean angle and stability are way better, not to mention it is easier to put down with my foot!
