I followed a few threads on this a year ago, then decided to do my own version. I was always uncomfortable with the lean angle of my 907IE on anything other than level pavement. I also didn't like the kickstand not meeting the ground parallel. I bought a block of 6061 aluminum on ebay for about $10, 1" thick by 2" by 3". I sliced the top to match the wear and out of parallel going on where it was to be clamped and welded to the original. I then tryed to TIG weld it myself
Then I brought it to a professional, who did a great job for $40. He said that the parts being welded need to be preheated with oxy-acteylene to within a few degrees of the melt temperature and then TIG welded. I then did a lot of band sawing, filing, and sanding to get a contoured look and as wide a pad on the ground as I could. I had to sand a little off the back surface to clear my exhaust. Overall the lean angle and stability are way better, not to mention it is easier to put down with my foot! You can see the lean angle here
