stupid question, but how to losen the oil drain plug? :banghead:

I used quite a lot force, but couldn't remove it. Should it open in the normal counterclockwise direction?

I used a 10 mm Allen wrench, but this seems a bit loose fitting. Is there a special size, 10.5 or so, needed

thanx
George

10 mm Allen, try to get a socket one.
Then try to hold it very firmly w one hand and and give a small but distinct punch w the other on the handle.

For certain, use a socket, make sure all is quite clean and that the wrench seats firmly by tapping it in place with a plastic mallet. The manual shows a torque spec of around 40 Nm for the drain plug, so that I think would be hard to break loose with a normal allen wrench. Also, the hole may be worn from years of use, so a new drain plug could be fitted. $12 from DesmoTimes, don't know the dealer price. Use a new washer, lube the threads with anti-seize ...

Thanx a lot, the drain plug is lose now. It just needed a bit more force, but I didn't dare because I was not sure for the size of the Allen and direction.
