I've never been entirely happy having a Triumph Sprint sharing the same stable as the 907 so I've part ex-ed the trumpet for a 2004 ST3 ( Yellow  with factory fitted panniers and only 1200 miles on the clock  ). Will I regret it and more to the point will the 907 be happy with a new(ish) Italian stunner in the same room?

Any thoughts?

My mechanic says the ST3 has a great engine which can be besides easily boosted.
If the price was fair I'd think about     .
Ciao

ST3 can be a GREAT bike if you have an hard work on the suspension!
The worst shock adsorbers of ST series are installed on ST3!
If you can find a complete set from early ST2 (the fully tuneable ones) and you find a good customer to rbuild them, then you'll have a "war lightning"

About valve adjustments: My very good Ducati friend, who have played with allkind Ducati engines about 25 years told to me just few times ago, that valve adjustment to ST3 engine is WORST compared to all other ST series bikes, as there is no room for fingers enough.. I have only ST2 and ST4S so i cant say about ST3, but he knows better, than me this thing, as he have "specialized" to valve adjustments for very long time.... :smoke:

I know also from myself, that for ST4S valve adjustment is much more complicated, than to ST2, what is just, like 907IE.... Anyway i like ST series bikes alot, as they have more "newer systems", than Pasos have... sorry, but i had to say it...

I got an ST3 a couple of years ago and it was a much better bike in every way than the 907 that sadly the Paso is past. I got myself a 09 Street Triple and love it! I will always carry fond memories of the 907 and the good times riding her and the sweet sound of the desmo playing through the Supertrapps. :choo:

The ST3 has done two long(ish) round trips to Derby and London for the AC/DC concert and the 907 is happily sat in the garage on charge waiting for the next sunny sunday. I have to say that fitted panniers are marvellous !

The weather looks wet for today here in the UK so I'll press on with some garage tidying.

I'll not mention the ST3 again !

Ride safe/
