does any one know if a set of spoke rims from a gt1000 will fit on a 907? |

I'm in the process of putting a set of spoked wheels from a Paul Smart onto a naked 750 Sport, and using a set of M1R forks. Lets put it this way, its not easy. It can be done, and will be done, but not without the help of machinist. The biggest problem is that the Sport Classic wheels use the modern 25mm axles, and there is no simple bearing conversion to get them to fit the 17mm axles that the rest of the suspension already has. While McTool doesn't quite understand it, I think they look great. Not quite sure about the design integrity with the Paso styling, but to each his own. The rim sizes are 3.5 in front, and 5.5" in back, and of course they are 17". They are heavier than the 3 spoke wheels, and then you need to run tubes, so that adds another pound or so to your wheels. All in all, its a hard sell. A three spoke wheel conversion is a lot easier. Cheers, |

I would add the spoke rims wouldn't look good on any naked bike. Would you imagine them on a MV Agusta Brutale or on a Kawasaki Z 1000? Really, I can see them on the old style naked as the Triumph, Guzzi and so on. Ciao |

it was already done. There was a bike in the gallery with those rims and I personally didn`t mind that. It was executed really well. Unluckily the link to the gallery pic doesn`t work anymore and I didn`t keep a copy of that pic. It was someone here in the forum obviously. G. |

I think the New Zealander is putting the Paso in the Jap bike category. Which it's not, it's a classic european in which spokes would work quite fine and be very unique. Unlike a Jap bike from the 80s and 90s ![]() |

if you think about spokes in a 907 and worry about the axle of Ø 25, why don't you take the whole front end incl. forks, triple clamps and so on. you still may find a few things to solve. by the way the M1R legs can be bored out to Ø 20 or 22. Bearings of 52/22 and 52/20 are available. in case of Ø 20 you can use an old speedometer drive. I've done this trick with my 900SS which had a M1BB front fork and I believe Ø 17 is simply too small. only a Honda MT50 has a thinner axle. ![]() spokes in a Paso is not a thing I would go for. Hi MC Tool, if you're thinking turning a '97 900ss into a somehow but you're sure about the looks of the tank, look for a classic looking one like those on the bevel heads. If you find a aluminium Imola or NCR like one, you can convert the bottom of the tank to fit over the airbox and battery. some time ago I saw an ad of a classic tank fitting a 900ss. a German company called WBOracing used to have a lot of parts, but took a number of parts out of production. maybe you can call them for remaining stock. I had thought of useing an older bevel tank but they have a "central spine " type frame and my ss has a perimeter frame and thats where that idea ended .its not a high priority at the moment . Thanks for your input Bertus , cheers Hamish |

Perfect picture, shows exatly why I wouldn't mount spokes on my 907. the spoked wheels and the looks of a Paso come from an different era. in my opinion it just doesn't match! ![]() I have the reamins of a '90 900ss (yes, the first batch belt-900's) together with a tophalf and spoked wheels this would be Oke.
