Post subject: | Garage Stand for 907ie |
Hi All, So my 907ie sits in the garage for a few months at a time as I do not get it to ride it too often anymore. I just got new tyre and noticed that, for those long months when the bike is still on the central stand, the front tyre has all some of the weight of the bike on it. The tyre becomes oval and does not ride as well... Does anyone have any recommendation for a central stand to use in a garage for my 907ie? Or any other suggestions? Thank you, ltbauzo. |

You should be able to put something together out of 2x4 fairly cheaply. I have as yet not put a centerstand on my 906,have one just to lazy to do it. So I cobbled this together one day a while back. I'm sure it could easily be made to lift the front wheel off the ground as well, just to give you an idea |

while the bike is on the centre-stand put a bag of cement on the back of the seat.. this will take the load off the front. you could also tell your wife that you're taking her for a ride and to wait for you on the pillion seat... ask her if she enjoyed the ride when you get home. |

I sit mine on paddock stands at both ends - the best I have used are the Harris ones as they stainless steel and very stable |

put the bike on the centerstand. shove a 1 or 2 cm. thick piece of wood underneath the centerstand by tilting the bike over forward and backward. now you have enough air under the rear wheel for the next step. take the front wheel from the ground and place a wooden rod like a piece of broom stick between the front cylinder and floor. now both the wheels are free. Try lifting the bike by hanging it on the upper fork clamps & the passenger holding thing.... |
