Hi, does anyone know the exact model name of the black 4 piston calipers of the 907ie and 851 ? It should start with "P4" I guess. I`m currently looking for a rebuild/seal kit. G. |

They are called the P432, for the 4 32mm pistons. They are the black 4 pot calipers with the smooth outside were used on racing bikes in the 80's, and were on only a few bikes in production. (851 for a year or two, and 907, and European 1990 900 ss) the key characteristic was that they were 4 piston, and all the pistons were the same size, which were 32mm. The ubiquitous Gold Line calipers are 30/34. Two of the smaller size, and two of the larger size. The two piston sizes was intended to increase feel over a wider range, or at least that's what have heard. Find them on this page: http://www.cyclebrakes.com/html/brembo_caliper_3.html Cheers, |

thanks Phil. ![]() ![]() I do have a set of P4 30/34 C, too so the naming is clear. It just seemed like the pistons of the black calipers were slightly smaller. I guess I will have to measure them tomorrow. Knowing now that these are the P4 32D and with the part#s of the repair set I can hopefully rebuild them. G. |

G Just checked. They are, as you have been told, P4.32d. |
