So I brought the 907 into work today to install a new front tire. First ride on the Duc of the season and it started, ran fine for the 3 miles in to the shop. Put on the tire and took off for the house. Stalled at a stoplight, re-started and started running like crap, lots of surging, won't idle, dies. It will re-start and run sort of OK for like 10 seconds, then start to run progressively worse until it finally dies out again, like a 30-45 second cycle. I did just replace the timing belts (last fall, last time it was ridden), but rode it 3 miles home afterward and all seemed fine. A little more info. After I initially posted this, it sat for something like 10-15 mins. I went in and started it, ran fine, for a couples mins. , then started acting up and finally died. Is the computer taking a dump?? Any ideas??? Thanks as always, Doug in Colorado |

Yet another update. I pulled the connection to the ECM, dilectric greased it, as well as connections to the coils and various other spots. In the process, I pulled the tank. Put it all together and it runs fine... Is there a sock style filter in the tank? The issue seems more like it is running out of fuel than electronic or electrical. The pump runs and is running even when the beast dies. At least is runs again. Could it be I put a Michelin on teh front as opposed to the Pirelli I took off...maybe she's allergic to German parts?? ![]() |

I was thinking the same. Next time it acts up remove the gas cap and see if it makes a difference. If it makes a "pfff" noise when you open it it`s it. |

it's somewhere in the fuel system. candidates are. clogged fuel filter: kinked or bursted lines inside the tank water in the tank malfunction of the pump although it is running. malfunction of fuel pressure regulator. tank vent system. if can add an pressure meter in the fuel system you can see if the pressure drops at a certain moment. with an Y-connection you can put it nearly anywhere in the lines. you should read about 3 bar or 42 PSI. if the tank vent system is the culprit you'l see a pressure drop as well.
