Hi, i want to change the "shell" of my Marving exhausts. I already drilled out the rivets, but i can`t get it apart. Somebody knoes how it works? Is it glued somehow? |

Most of the exhausts are pressed together with surprisingly tight tolerances. Don't want them to rattle. General rule is to remove the silencer from the bike, and use a good solid broomstick inserted from the inlet side to push it out. May take a bit of banging the end of the stick on the ground and forcing the innards out the back end. Of course a liberal dosing of Liquid Wrench will help. If it isn't the tight tolerances fighting you, its the carbon deposits. I battled with a slide hammer for hours getting nowhere, then used the broomstick method and freed them right up. I was taking apart a BUB exhaust. Cheers, |

a few exhausts also use a sealing band that can still stick when the rivets are removed. |
