Hi, i want to change the "shell" of my Marving exhausts. I already drilled out the rivets, but i can`t get it apart. Somebody knoes how it works? Is it glued somehow?

Most of the exhausts are pressed together with surprisingly tight tolerances. Don't want them to rattle. General rule is to remove the silencer from the bike, and use a good solid broomstick inserted from the inlet side to push it out. May take a bit of banging the end of the stick on the ground and forcing the innards out the back end. Of course a liberal dosing of Liquid Wrench will help.

If it isn't the tight tolerances fighting you, its the carbon deposits.

I battled with a slide hammer for hours getting nowhere, then used the broomstick method and freed them right up. I was taking apart a BUB exhaust.

Cheers,

a few exhausts also use a sealing band that can still stick when the rivets are removed.
