My throttles getting sticky on the return and I suspect fraying cable. No longer available from Ducati but I wouldn't mind changing throttle assy as the actions never been light even with a new cable about 7 years ago, and I've always blamed the 90degree cable tunnel on the throttle. Ive just read a SSie type throttle and cable will fit and work as quick action. An upgrade for available parts is good in my book, anyone done this? I did a search here but nothing came up.
Cheers, Keith.

Keith

If you stick with the standard throttle assy then Venhil can custom make cables. Don't think they have a minimum order qty either

I had a sticky throttle on both my ST2 and later my ST4s. Both were not from the cable, but linkage on the throttle bodies. The ball and socket joints get dry and sticky. A little bit of oil took care of everything. Take the cable off of the throttle bodies and isolate the problem before you order new cables.

Sometimes the old lube in the cable just gets sticky, and needs to be refreshed.

Cheers, Phil

I bought a ST2 throttle and cable and they don't fit. The inner cable is about 25-35mm short. The adjuster thread on the injector end bracket would've needed going up a size too. I sorted through my spares and found a decent original cable but the problem was in the throttle all along. The cable guide/cover was fouling when the 2 cross head screws are tight. A washer to stop it from closing down so much has solved the prob.
