I've done the quiet clutch mod to three bikes now and didn't to any bending the extra friction plate. In each case I installed a old steel friction plate first before the rest of the pack. To get the stack height right I had to miss out one of the 2 plain steel plates that normally go in first and on one of the bikes I had to swap one of the other 2mm plain plates for a 1.5mm plate. That was it. No problems since in many thousands of miles.

hi Derek, I never had my clutch apart, I will get couple of old friction plates, is the friction plate the inner shaft plate or the outer basket plate (I immagine the inner) then the rest sounds like bit of trial and error...
