I saved my red 907 from flames.
The rectifier caught fire.
I wonder if the same thing happened to that 907

I knew a guy who had a brand new 907. He was sitting looking at and admiring it when he noticed smoke coming out of the bodywork. He disconnected the battery and stripped the bodywork to find that the loom was burning. The loom was too tight and wires were shorting on the frame. Luckily there was no major damage. He had the loom replaced under warranty. It was a great bike and the first Ducati I had ridden. |

this may not be an electrical fire...looks like the top of the petrol tank has gone up in flames, even if the wires in the tank short out it should not cause a fire, in the last few mth I have attended 3 refrigeration units which were badly damaged by fire, in my opinion all caused by vandals using some sort of accelerant. koko how are you going with your paso search, any luck? |

I had no luck. Then financial situation changed and I had to put off the search. Then that changed again. I realized that I prefer the P750 which makes it harder here. Due to a strange turn of events I could be buying an old LS E750 as a long term project! Its on the other side of the country in Perth and I will be going there in Sept. Working on a split Mikuni CV carb/short manifold/ported project at present. Lane helped me out. Whatever happens I'd like to hang around. Great forum and good guys. |

My guess is leaking fuel lines. Both my 907s leaked at the various connections when I first got them. Hose clamps need to be snugged up on occasion as the hoses dry out. |

Hey Koko, I'm not sure if I've asked you this already but have you tried Great Southern Motorcycles in Albany WA yet? 08 9841 2246 Last year they had a mint Paso750 on consignment. It was owned by a collector, had been restored, had delortos and Bimota rims. It was red and looked real nice. I was going to buy it but then the blue 906 come up for sale in the next suburb to me. In hindsight I wish I bought that one. It was advertised for $6990. Mine now owes me $8k and I'm still not done  |

I've written that number down.  Nice Paso alright. I'll be in Perth in Sept. Thanks for the cable too. I'm obesessing about modifying a bike I haven't got yet. Got the fever bad.

Geez Francesco, nerves of steel  I think, if it happened to me, I would point it towards the bush and give it a big shove! Then I would ring the wife and get her to come pick me up...  Insurance is a wonderful thing... It's good that you saved a paso from death though
