Post subject: | Problems from 4.500 rpm on |
Hi! After years without bigger problems, i have no power from 4.500 rpm on. In the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th its is not possible to drive more than 6.000rpm. The motor feels normal from 0-4.000 but then.... What the hell could this be? I have no idea, maybe the ignition, or a sensor? Need some help now... Thanks Ynot http://www.ynot.gnx.at |

The Ducati Guy says its the frontside Injector; but I am not shure that this could cause that malfunction..... Anybody had a defect injector? |

Have you checked your fuel filter lately? They do block up and will restrict the flow of fuel to the injectors at high rpm & full throttle. Mine was really blocked after a few years and I now replace every couple of years or so. Worth a go. Regards, Chris. UK 907 |

Hi, solution: There is a fucking metal fuel pipe inside the tank, which has a small leak now because of rust... So there is not enough fuel pressure (only 1-2 instead of 3 bar), thats the reason why the engine does not run over 6000rpm.... The tank is a joke, there is lots of rust already..... |

Post subject: | The Solution |
Hi again! The ducati guy has made a bypass of the rotted pipe inside the tank and....nothing changed! Still tere was a fuel pressure of only 2 bar. So I talked to a german specialist. And what he said was really remarkable & it was the solution of all the problems: The fuel pressure regulator has a hidden screw behind an aluminium plate where it is possible to adjust the fuel pressure from 1 to 4 bar ! So we adjusted it to 3 bar and- what should I say it worked. The bike goes better than ever. It could be that the spring inside got worn out. Every fuelpressure regulator has a (hidden) srcew! Fabolous.... |
