Hi Guys,
I picked up a NOS 907 p7 ecu the other day and noticed last night that it has a "CH" stamped on both sides so was wondering if it was designated for the swiss market. It doesn't have a chip in it so are all the p7's the same except for different chips for different markets? Thanks Arch.

all p7's are the same,907,851, Fiat, Maserati et al. The chip does the tuning and mapping there are different versions and levels but any one should work with the proper chip

I read somewhere that the 91 and 92 P7's varied with the 91 being a bit slower? Might be load of bollox tho.
I have both and they have different numbers, I run a Baines chip in my bike and it seems to run smoother with the older ECU. I put this down to the chip being written for the older ECU.

P7s for bikes are the same, jusr chip varies.
Car ECU's don't work on bikes due to sensor variations.

My very knowledgeable friend who runs this business http://hexengineering.se (reprogramming all Duc ECU`s etc) told me so.
One of the ignition sensors is different, IIRC it was a Hall vs inductive thingy.
I have yet to see someone ACTUALLY put a car P8 in a bike..... ;)

Bike P8 are the same, chip varies.
I have a Laverda P8 in mine now, w offset cyl mapping which make a small but noticeable difference.

in terms of ECU circuits the difference between an inductive pickup and a Hall Effect Sensor would be minor.

Yes, but what I`ve seen, they`re also differently wired pinwise.

yes exactly my point, but from what I can find all circuits are included in all P7's and only the chip decides which circuits are active. Also every thing I can find on the different levels of P7's was strictly to adjust off idle charecteristics which was an issue with the p7 on bikes only, it was a throttle response thing. Racers could care less
I did run across one instance with a Lamborghini and a Maserati where a daughter card was added to allow for 2 distributors tied to the corresponding injectors in v8,v10 and v12 street and racing engines and good luck finding one of them in the wild

Forgot Fiat had the daughter card to play with as well

don't need a P8. Just got a new P7. Was looking into a MyECU but he blew me off

Yeah Byron, that's exactly like the one I got except mine has the ch stamped on both sides so probably had the chip for the swiss market. Arch.

I know the US bikes used to have stamped on the chip "023 us". That chip grants a leaner work of the engine for pollution reasons (according with the US laws).
Are there some ch chips, too? Differences?
Ciao
