Not only does it look better, it makes a big difference to the wind flow over the fairing and hitting the rider. The 907 is one of the quietest bikes for wind noise that I've riding. The effect of the NACA duct with it's spoiler is to create sort of invisible screen of air in front of the rider.

Tried the bike today with the new spoiler/ duct fitted and thought there was much less turbulence around my head! It was good to try it with and without as I now know it works and was worth buying

Went out for a ride to a local bike meet in Flaunden at the Green Dragon, had an embarrassing moment when I left the battery died! It took quite a push to get it started! Is there a recommended replacement battery? And I have read that the main cables for the starter should be upgraded!. It had always been a slow starter, the battery struggles to turn the engine over!

I purchased a standard battery from my local supplier for the bike as per his list (£35.00) I also upgraded my leads by purchasing a replacement set of leads as used by lovers of deep bass sounds from Halfords. A lot cheaper and it would appear as effective as the upgrade available on Ebay. To date and through the winter no issues with flat batteries. I keep the bike battery topped up with a solar charger from Maplins that sits on my Garage Roof.

I put a lithium battery from an online on sale in france at 40€/pc. Probably the dealer had too much stock and wanted to get rid of it as normal price is much more expensive for lithium.
To date : cheap, light, easy start.

Ref cables, i did it on my SS and Elefant. 16mm2 section. Probably too big, but at least now power from battery doesn't vanished in heated cables.

I fitted Shorai lithium battery to my 907 last week. Wow! What a difference. I have never heard any Ducati turn over so quickly. With the old battery on pressing the starter it went "Uh.........K-Chunk-K-Chunk-K-Chunk-K-Broom". It now goes "K-Broom" immediately even from cold. :)
And I got the battery for half price from a 1098 owner. He had bought it for his bike but the dash was throwing up over-voltage errors so he had reverted to a conventional battery. I reckon the problem is his dash as it reads 14.9V when the voltage across the battery is actually 14.2V. Whatever, I gained out of it.
The Shorai comes with extra lugs that can be fitted to the battery terminals. I fitted them so that I could use one set for the starter and main ground connections and the other pair for everything else.

Yes, I'm surprised Ducati didn't fit one. The Shorai on my 907 is very well packed with all the foam packing that is supplied with the battery that there in very little chance of it moving. In the UK car batteries must be secured and it is checked in the annual MoT test. I've had a look at the motorcycle section of the tester's manual and battery security isn't specifically mentioned.

Thanks for the feed back about the batteries I was thinking about a lithium battery. My Makita drill I use for work has a lithium battery although it's 4 years old it still holds full charge and cranks my drill over right up until it goes flat!

I fitted a new lithium battery and the bike spins over nicely! It also is very small and extremely light!
Took the bike on a long run today, I still can't get over how stable the bike is at speed and how little you get buffetted around. The only thing which needs some improvement is the headlight! Might try a up rated lamp to see if that improves things

do check if you have the full battery voltage at the headlight and if maybe the inside of the headlight lens is dusty.
All of the current goes via the ignition switch so replacing a bulb with one more powerful can cause problems. Bulbs like the Philips XtremeVision Moto could be worth a try.

Went out today for my usual Sunday ride and after 5 miles the engine died and loads of smoke came from under the seat. When I looked under the seat a wire from the battery had melted all the insulation off it!
I called the recovery after disconnecting the battery to avoid further damage.
Luckily a lady in a house saw my plight and made me a coffee whilst I waited for the recovery vehicle,
Her husband used to ride motorcycles!
I will take some of the fairing off to see the extent of the damage to the loom

Took some photos of the burnt out wiring loom, it's mainly under the seat area.
I traced the fault to a wire shorting to the frame!
I have purchased a S/H wiring loom and will attempt to fit it soon!
