Hi all,
I Was riding today after the bike had a year long hibernation and the dash died on me. Obviously the mechanical MPH and RPM still work. I can start the bike just fine. No gas level, water temp, turn signals, clock (which is still good) or information lights (kickstand, neutral, etc.). Just want to check if this has happened to anybody else or is a common issue. I did a search the forum but didn't find anything. I looked at the work shop manual and didn't find anything.

a couple questions:
Is this a single fuse that does the dashboard and turn signals?
If so, which one(s) fuse runs the dash (F2-F5?)
Are any of the connections known to fail?

I will start checking all the connections in the morning. I did find in my search that there are three connectors that go to front of the bike - any confirmation here would be very helpful...

I have to do a major in the next couple months on my own for the first time - doesn't look too complicated as I am used to picky, complex Italian machines.

Any direction is certainly appreciated!

With all them things crapping out at once Id be looking at the earth wire/connection for the dash ( something that is common to all failed things ) usually bolted to the frame either side of the steering head

The only thing I can see that will fit all these symptoms is the 4 pin connector has popped out of the back of the dash.

there's another option - if the top mount for the dash fails the dash flops back and can break the PCB track where it rubs against whats left of the mount.

If the battery is not fully charged this causes the voltage to drop which in turn increases the current ( amps) and this can blow the fuse! Always have a good battery on a bike as low or unstable voltage can damage electronics ie the ignition or fuel injection system !
