Hi ,how tires sizes have signed on yours bike documentation?
I have170/60/17rear 120/70/17front.
Alternatively are 180/55/17rear 120/60/17 front.
That size are write on my bike document
My bike have 180/55/17 and120/70/17 but local police dont like it because theyr opinion are i must have stock pair or alternative pair.only rear alternative wheel dont pass tecnica revision.(like tuv in de or mot in UK).

Hi Krisstek,

The official sizes are 170/60/17 rear and 120/70/17 front.

I am aware of people (including myself) fitting 180/55/17 at the rear, but this can slightly rub against the chain if the wheel alignment is not spot on.

I have not heard of 120/60/17 being fitted on the front though.

Luckily, in the Netherlands there is no issue with the 180/55/17 from a legal point of view...

Has anyone had this/tried this?

Cheers,
Bas

The official rear 170/60/17 although available at least in 1 model per manufacturer doers not give many choices in the sense that mostly will be a "grand Tourer" Tyre and there won't be any other options licke a "stickier" tyre.

Ducati, OFFICIALLY, will send you a "omologation Certificate" that will allow to record on the bike papers the 180/55-17 so that from the legal point of view you are safe.

I know this because my bike is registered in Italy and years ago I requested the "nulla osta" to legally fit the tyre on my 907 and they sent me a letter for that so I can use it at the DVLA to record the chance on my bike papers.

The pirelli has with the Angel GT a very good sporty (almost race) tyre in this size ...
Even better it remains a top notch tyre until the end.
I wouldn't mount a wider tyre then the 170, this one has better stability and agility and as long as you do not have more then say 150 hp it is more thenn sufficient i.m.h.o.

Thank for replyes
My bike paper has originale size and a optional size.optional was writing in 1996 ,for do this you must have a ducati official documentation, calling"nullaosta".
Near 180/60 they write 120/60 ,and now i must use this pair or stock pair.
When my new Dunlop will be consumed,i try 170 rear.
Italian law is very confused, one thing is right:if one 907paper has this size, you can write optional size on another 907paper without ducatis nullaosta.a first paper copy is right.
