Can anyone recommend a specialist to strip, hard chrome and rebuild my 907 forks in the UK? I got the bike recently which had been in storage with heavily rusted stanchions. I tried riding it but both fork seals were destroyed within a couple of miles, unsurprisingly.
Many thanks.

These guys are the go to blokes for Paso forks they can also adapt and alter the internals for you, they were back in the day quite reasonably priced too although I used them for something non Paso related. http://www.maxtonsuspension.co.uk/

I would always prefer re-chroming over a set of (mostly non originals) new stanchion tubes. Quality and dimension wise it's a better choise and also price wise (count on approximately £160-£200 incl. aligning for a set of tubes). There are a lot of replica's but regularly they have deviant length, inner dimensions, lack of wholes etc.
Have done it a few times ..... 9 out of 10 times it's better than new (although the original Marzocchi M1R chrome is also very good).
Good luck!
Frank

HI RB. Have you had the forks back yet? If so, how would you rate the work that was done? I have two sets I need re-chroming. Cheers

Forks not back yet but should be by the middle of the week. I will let you know and post photos, if I can figure out how too... Not had much luck with photbucket....
Bought the new fork seals from the BMW people "Motor Works" - £27.70 for the set with postage.
Got the new timing belts and will try the guitar tuning app on my Windows phone for tensioning. Apparently I need 100 to 110 Hz which is Piano key No.24, or halftone between A2 and G2 :-)
