Post subject: | Rear master cylinder |
After a rubber necked leaf peeper pulled a left turn into my lane today, I discovered I had no rear brake.......good thing I always have two fingers on the front.....wow...... Anyway, dead cylinder so whats best, rebuild or replace?....s/s brake line at the same time?... Other models fit or work better?....best place to buy one? Rode a hundred miles in the rain today...even wet and cold I love riding my Paso.... Thanks in advance.... |

Hi, I would open the rear master cylinder and check the condition of the seals znd the bore. Mostly the bore (cylinder) is ok. A revision kit costs around 20 Usd, Brembo partnumber: 10436220-Z. A new master cylinder will cost you about 95 Usd, Brembo partnumber: 10416610-Z (but are difficult to obtain). Stein Dinse, German company, mostly has them and will send them around the world. Good luck! Oh, bleed the rear brake regularly (more often than the front brake). Frank |

Well, happy to hear, let us know how it worked out once you receive the Brembo revision kit. Make sure the plastic dust cover is undamaged (no tears) and if you have use some silicon grease (lubricates, is water repellent, harmless for seals, plastics etc. and goes well with brake fluids). Good luck and have lots of pleasure with your 907! Frank |
