The wires on my 907 need to be replaced after more than 18 years. They are not the original ones, the text reads "Fiat Lancia CAVIS 400 CLASSE B", but it seems that these are also no longer available. What are good replacement wires, preferably in Europe?

If the ht leads can be separated from the coils ( like my dyna coils on my Guzzi ) ,I bought 7 or 8mm h.e.i leads from a auto electrical or hot rod engine shop. I used the dizzy end of the lead on the spark plug ( the dizzy end of an h.e.i lead has a smaller rubber boot and similar terminal that fits on the plug ) and measured for length and cut it and stuck it in the coil and glued it in with engine silicone sealer. Works a treat and looks ok ...pretty sure they were bosch leads , pix if you want . Hamish

I replaced all the leads on my Guzzis with Silicon HT leads. Just purchase what you need and cut to length. Screw on new caps each end, instantly improved starting, been on for 10 years or more now. Its on the todo list for the 907.

Thanks for the suggestions. Seems not too difficult But the plugs cannot be separated from the cable. So the most important question is: Are the leads just copper type? Carbon type? The resistance of the leads plus plugs is 800 Ohms for both.

When you say plugs cannot be separated from the cable , do you mean the spark plug caps ? Carbon type plug leads can be bought fully made up ,with the fittings on each end perminently attached ,and in various lengths. The idea is to buy two that are plenty long enough ,put the spark plug end on the plug , then check length needed to fit to the coil and then cut the cable to length and fit into the coil . Buy cables with 90deg plug caps ( as opposed to straight ones .....they fit better )
