Tachometer cable for 907ie needed. I found a new one for sale here but the member has not been on line for two years... Would cables for a different model fit? Any help would be appreciated, thanks... |

I needed a replacement and found they are no longer available from Ducati so I fitted one from a 900SS. It is about 100mm longer but the excess length is lost behind the headlamp and it works just fine. They are still available from Stein Dinse; |

The 750 cable is too short for the 907. If you don't manage to find a 907 one, buy a SS one. Ciao |

Thanks for the quick response guys. ![]() Also, thanks for the link Derek but ordering from the UK is a last resort. ![]() If anyone else has idea's, or one for sale, please chime in. I wonder if it's possible to just replace the inner piece, as the outside cover is in good shape? Has anyone tried this ? |

Give these guys an email http://www.carrotcycles.co.uk/custom-ma ... fo_10.html If enough people are interested we could get a batch made up I am happy to send them original pattern one to work off. You could even make your own using their supplied parts. |

I'm going to try and solder it this weekend, I'll post my results. If anyone has one for sale (in the States) I would much rather replace than repair. thanks, Sam... |

Venhill in the UK will also make them - they need a pattern though but once they have the pattern can make to order - if I can get down to Surrey before i put the engine back in mine they can use my speedo, Tacho and throttle cables as patterns. Also talking to someone about making a new coolant reservoir and chain sliders ! Coolant res I have as a spare for a pattern but I could do with a good condition or new old stock chain slider if we get to that point. |
A cable from any carbed 750/900SS from '92 to '97 should fit. Part no. is 0670.38.720 I didn't realise that the 750 Paso cable was shorter. I guess it's because it doesn't have to clear the radiator and has more direct route.
Awesome, and thanks again Derek (and all that responded) for taking the time and posting the part number. That is the part number I was given, it's for a 1997 900ss, I'll order it later today from my local Ducati dealer. ![]() Oh, I did try to repair my cable with solder, then epoxy. No way in hell. ![]() |
