Found one on ebay 2 weeks ago, bid 500. Was outbid by 10 . He had a higher reserve so it did not sell. Late Sunday 2 weeks Ago he put it up for 599, I bought it. A week later it had not arrived, he promised 2 day processing and 2 day delivery. Last Wednesday when it had not arrived I filed a case with ebay. He responded he had been out of town and shipped it saturday am and would provide tracking info. When the tracking info was not here by Wednesday this week I escalated the case against him Unfortunately for me I got my money back today so I guess I am still looking for one :banghead:
The pictures showed the entire kit with all the options which sold to dealers for 4500us
I think it is going to take me a long time to get over this one :drunk:

Hey Higgy.

Bad luck with the tester mate. Had a look at the Mathesis tester when you first posted about it. Had a close look at his eBay feedback, and its not the first time he has been, umm, a bit slow or not at all.

Funnily enough, the Triumph has been giving me a bit of grief over the last week of so. In my searching, I found an adaptor and freeware that is 99% of the factory diagnostic tool. Cost of the adaptor was about $30, the freeware was, well, free. The bike has a standard OBD (I think I got that right) connector, and I think even a standard OBD diagnostic tool can be used. The freeware even has the ability to upload and make new Fuel injection maps. Its also compatible to other bikes, KTM and Benelli from memory. I gather the Mathesis does pretty much the same as all that? Maybe the freeware mob could do up a package to suit later Ducati's? If you are interested, the freeware site is http://www.tuneecu.com/ and the adaptor I got off eBay at http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TUNE-ECU-DIA ... 53ed8a0fc4

You never know your luck?

Cheers.

Nick.

There is on line a chap who has developed a software ScanST300 capable of dialoging with all the ducati CPUs, using a simple laptop and a KKL VagCom Cable with a EOBD/3 pin FIAT adaptor

Several of my friends have been using it and all seem happy.

I dont know very much about it, so I cannot give any personal experience, nevertheless for someone who knows "his business" I guess it would be worth to have a look at it.

the info can be found here: http://christian.giupponi.free.fr/HELP/SCAN_ST.HTM

it is in french, but with the online translators it seems easy to work out the website.

The software is free and I am told the owner does frequent updates

The seller has offered to make amends. Free shipping this time.
Angelix, I have seen PC based system that will work with P8 and later for about 250US
I only know of one reported to work with a P7 but it is way too much money. The p7 apparently has some odd protocols and mapping irregularities.

I unfortunately do not currently have the time to work it out myself. There are a few open source options but that would take a lot of code cracking to get them working. :banghead:
