Does anybody have a chain adjuster I can buy? I went out on my bike today and it has sheared the bolt and lost the gold plate of the adjuster! |

I don't have one but are you looking for left or right side? The end plates are the same for the SS/851/888/ and Monster. The bolt is used in the same models plus Multistrada and ST2/3/4. |

I wonder why the bolt broke in the first place. I'm guessing it was tightened a bit more after the axle nuts were or the axle came loose (or the conical spacer is installed the wrong way around?!). The bolts are M8x90mm btw. Since I had read about this also in other forums I lockwired mine. Lockwiring the bolt may have been overdoing it considering the chain has to be checked and readjusted once in a while.

I think the bolt had Metal fatigue and snapped when I accelerated. Thanks Derek I have ordered the part from Stein Diense! It was my first ride in 6 months bike is running well glad I spotted the missing adjuster before the wheel could move! |
