I'm headed to Spain with my wife for a week on 10/17. We will be staying in Valencia and ridinig in the countryside all week and then to the race over the weekend. Are there any areas we should make SURE that we see??
Are there any members that want to meet for lunch or a ride while we are there??

Hi Jon,
I`m in Denia once in a while as a friend lives there. As Denia is half way between Alicante and Valencia I`ve been in those places. Valencia is a nice town. We`ve moved up and down the coast a bit but to be honest although I like it a lot the countryside is a little bit boring but great to have vacation and switch off. Guess you should check a guide to see if there`re any sights worth to drop by. Denia has a small castle ruin, Xavia a nice small bay with a promenade and numerous restaurants, Calpe is a tourist town but with a giant rock aside which makes it special and then there`s Alicante. Smaller than Valencia but with a nice beach, promenade and a big castle I unluckily never managed to visit. Take care if you drive those narrow and twisty coastal roads. There`re less nutters on the streets compared to France but you`ll notice some old wreck here and there if you look down certain escarpments. Towards Barcelona the countryside becomes a little bit greener. Xavia
Calpe
Denia
Alicante
Btw. just like in France you have to pay if you want to take the highway. Have a good vacation.
G.
