Yes, intrested! , as talking about 16" Michelin's, but anyway i think, mc peopple drive with much more safe tires compared to car drivers.... as car is only "machine to go from place A to B" (like to work), but motorbike, especially Ducatis are made for enjoy in twisty roads and i quess, that every of us takes more care off Pasos tires than own car tires...like me! Anyway too old mc tires are surely too old to be safe. Its about "grip" mostly, not so much about "blown tire" like with cars...

What was last patch they make those 16" Michelin's for Pasos? If they say in that video its about 6 years(for car tires!), then last "safe" patch for Michelin's were 2004... :smoke:

I have noticed also, that if mc tire(Michelin 16") is too old, it wears out quite fastly in hard drive...and its much slippery compared to new one.... this is what i have noticed with driving 750 Paso! :smoke: ...and it really doesnt have so much power!

I think it's no more possible riding a Paso with the stock tires :,( :,( :,( :,( :,( :,( :,( .
I'd keep the Michelin only to display the bike in the living room     .
Ciao

Frankie, Ducati's are made for hard driving in twisty roads, not for livingroom! They have own room and its called garage. Some garages are enough well equipped for them as they can enjoy they life there also! (music, good tools, warm, plenty of light, coolbox, microwawe. etc... )

It`s scary to see how old some tires are that are being offered as new. When I order new ones I usually complain if they are older than a year.
If I remember well the german ADAC (automobile club) says that only tires up to 3 years of age can be sold as new here.
I wonder about the video showing that the tread peels off. I thought that was mainly an issue on retreaded tires like most truck tires. Tires blowing up will mainly be an issue on cars due to unnoticable sidewall damage caused by parking against or driving over sidewalks.
Main issue will always be the loss of grip.

someone once said he had Michelins from 2006 but I doubt that. The newest I have seen were DOT mid 2004.

Front in bike(100% condition, not used): 14/05
Rear in bike(90% condition): 27/04

Front in cellar(100% condition, not used): 14/05

U know reason for it very well and i can tell it now also to others: I have ST2 for "daily bike" and here is very expensive to use 2 motorbikes SAME TIME(insurances!) and anyway i have to pay whole time from ST2 insurances, so... I havent had so much motivation to drive my Pasos for few last years, as its very expensive to me.... I mean to keep all bikes insurances whole time..... Anyway i drive about 16 000kms every summer(6.5monthes!) with my bike(now with ST2), so how much you guys drive Your Paso's?????

Reason is ONLY insurance payments! I think many is choked when know, that here cheapest insurance to keep motorbike(now ST2!) in legally in traffic coast about 660€/year. :banghead: Surely without any bonus. That bonus lower it, if u are driving enough many years without any crashes/damages,etc.. If i want more security by extra insurance what is then against steal, violance, elk crashes and fire then i have to pay extra 80€/year and if i want full insurance against my own faults/crashers i have to pay about 1237€/year + surely that 660€ from normal traffic insurance(what every car/mc have to have), so if i choose best insurances for my ST2 i have to pay 660€(have to pay this!) + 1237€ = total coast is 1897€/year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

If comparing this to maintaining coasts of Ducati, You can easily imagine why i keep ONLY one Ducati in insurances(and in "street use").... Tire coasts are very low compared to insurances here!!!!! :banghead:
