So
i finally got red 907 #2 off its stand and onto its wheels for a ride.
I had originally purchased 907 #1, the yellow bike to do a ride to the Gold Coast with a charity in Feb, a quick 5000km round trip.
Anyway it didn't happen and as I had some issues with bike #1, I bought bike #2, as you do!

That started some fixing of bike #2 and installing bits from bike #1 I had been collecting,
the rebuilt forks, Wilbers rear shock, MPL slipper clutch, HID conversion, starter wire upgrade and earths, now 4ga wire, oil change, belt adjust, fit Aldi Go cruise s350GPS, ear cannon horn, new Metzlers roadtecs, repainted rear wheel with new bearings and cush rubbers, swap leaking coolant tank, fit ceramic coated exhaust headers [sweet looking],
along with a general clean up! I have now found a oil leak from the hori cylinder around the base.....damm!

Anyway , the Shire of Yarra organise ride days with instructors from Honda Australia Rider training up some of there roads, as they are a mecca for sport riders and others. Sadly many are injured and killed on these roads, so the shire tries to help us low skilled riders to ride safely. Great idea, costs about $75.

25 riders on various machinery from a 250cc single to sports bikes with a few harley cruisers thrown in. Most riders were in their 40 to 50s, so no young guns unfortunately.
The instructors give lots of hints and then follow you for about 20km as well. All up about 175km day, but a long day, from 9 to 4pm. Lunch was at Marysville, a town devastated in the bush fires about 15mths ago.

So lots of fun, my 907 cherry is broken, apart from the oil leak the bike went really well. Looking at the pics I am surprised how big i look on the bike! I am 188cm
I rode the twistys really slow, I feel very scared on a down hill bend!

the photos are from the shire, here is the link to all of them, i hopefuly are posting the 907 ones below! Thanks to everyone whos help has got the bikes running and going, love the site!!
cheers Nigel

thats me third from the left!

Very nice fotos, Nigel    Anyway You can take away that STUPID label/sticker from RPM meter, as there is limiter in ECU which dont let engine run over ab. 9000 RPM's . I have to accurete little, that RPM limiter is in ECU EPROM, not in ECU, so what EPROM You have in ECU? Some aftermarket EPROMS dont have limiter at all and then its another thing, but anyway; Not so many owners use 907IE over 9000 RPM so long times, maybe only few seconds, so such dont make any harm to Desmo engine... :smoke:

Btw, how You feel with Your legs/knees, as seems, that You have Corbin, or samekind lowered saddle and seems, that You are quite long guy??? How about "knee angle" when driving long distances???

yep, I am tall, as I said, I didn't realize how big I looked on the bike! Knees? no problem, but then I haven't done a full day non stop yet!
Seat is a Corbin, that has been recovered. I don't think it is a good job.
I may get it re done with a different shape.
It feels a bit soft and too sharp edged, so it could be shaped better.
I have 4 seats, 2x91 907, 1 x93 907 in grey and this one.

As for the tacho sticker, my bike seems to have ALL of the original stickers, so tacho, tank -rider safety, rear cover above seat key lock, one each side of swing arm for pre-load and chain adjust, so I am keeping them on for originality.
I find much into 5000rpm the vibes start, I don't think I have got much over 7000rpm yet!

You can run her without any problems to redline and not so bad idea to use range 4800-8000. And especially just BEFORE VALVE clearance chek, it have to be driven with higher RPM, as valve seats NEED TO BE CLEAN before start valve adjustments..... It doesnt work well under 4000.... "not designed to such" !!!! :smoke: If use with higher RPM, then engine stays cleaner surely.... :smoke: But i dont own Your bike, so its up to You... surely

This is also used in many racing cars, but IF use such "water injection system to inlet", then have to change oils quite often, as allways some amount of water goes to lubrication system. So i wouldnt use such in street bike (like Paso), but in race cars/bikes i understand such way to keep engine clean from shit... They have used such water spray systems in race cars for very long time.... :smoke:

Nigel: Move to North Europe, as then You dont have "so cruel" polices... Btw, here is summer coming soon, as Your have soon winter there, so be hurry!

FOR ME, it still much safer way to clean valves with higher RPMs, as then no need to think possible failures. Have anybody here heard about engine failure from "too high RPM's" in Desmo engine (if have limiter in ECU!)? I still want to be in "safe side" with my engines, as they are NOT race engines for tracks... But as well known, everybody can do to they own engines what they want to do...
