Hi everyone, this site is great! I don't have a Paso, but I do have a distant cousin - just picked up a 1990 750 Sport. I have a '99 Monster 750, and my uncle & I went in together and bought this bike for a "spare" to have around when he comes in to visit. It's in pretty good shape overall. 8500 miles, aftermarket pipes, Mikunis, and a little bling:

I'm looking to take it back closer to stock with regard to the turn signal housings, hand grips, and pipes if we can find them. The pipes are pretty trashed after a low speed crash on the left side. The turn signals are all those cheesy fake-carbon that you get from Lockhart-Phillips. Maybe OK for a 250 Ninja but doesn't work for me . Of the two biggest complaints, weber and tires, one has been solved for me, but this tire thing is driving me nuts. The bike has the stock sized A59X and a 170/70 on the rear.

I'm looking for anything other than the Michelins. I rode a 907ie a few years ago with them and wasn't impressed (but the roads were gritty and it poured so it might not have been just the tires).

I was reading through the 750 Paso Technical FAQ section and of course the GSXR wheel swap caught my eye. I followed the links but it seems they are all broken now. I am very interested in this conversion... anyone tried it?

Are there many other 750 Sport owners out here? I saw at least one... yellerduck you still out here?

Hey, that's weird. A guy over on Speedzilla has the same bike with the same mods as yours!

Kidding. Glad you found the place, I'm sure there are people here who can answer some of your questions. I haven't been able to look for the weber artilce yet. It may even already be here for all I know...

Book value is around $3000-3500. I paid $2K.

It needs a little TLC... general clean up & re-wrap wires, it currently has open intakes on the carbs - need to add pod or foam filters. Brakes feel a little soft, as does the hydraulic clutch... nothing a fluid change and maybe some new lines won't cure. It was lowsided on it's left side, so there's a small area on the left fairing that needs some filler & repainting. The frame near the left footpeg bracket was damaged in the fall, so the owner sanded & straightened the area, but it needs repainted. A couple other minor scratches were touched up but need to be filled, sanded and repainted as well. The bike sat for the last year unridden/untouched, so the carbs and tank need the old fuel cleaned out, and lastly the battery needs replaced.

I wasn't originally going to mess with the wheels. I swapped out the 18" rear on my '87 VFR for a 17" and it was a pain. But having only one choice of tires really doesn't appeal to me either.... and Pompano's emailed me back and made it sound a lot easier than what I went through on the VFR. I still may leave it as is and just deal with it.

Don
