For sure I will, just limited mileage. I certainly won't waste the opportunity to ride a bike I've always wanted. I also won't miss the opportunity to take it to the local pub and let it sit out front and blaze in the sun either (with a lock on it of course). I may trailer it to the Dragon too. (deals gap)

I'm not suggesting that it will increase as much as some. But I can't buy any of those mentioned for $3000 with 5000 miles either. Is a 58 Corvette worth as much as a 58 Ferrari? Nope. But a very nice origional 58 corvette still will bring over $100,000 in the right circumstance. Sure, that not $1 million, but does that mean it was a bad investment? How much did that 58 Corvette cost in 1976? Likely about 7-10 grand.
What I'm suggesting that although collecting cars and some bikes is nothing new, there's two elements to the puzzle that we must consider. First is a worldwide market place for all to see. The first rule, limited supply, abundant demand. Ebay will not go away, it will only grow and spawn competition. Secondly, because we are (or may be) a tad younger than the average collector, does that mean we are not seeing opportunities right in front of our faces? Am I the only one who's heard numerous people say "I really wish I'd hung onto to that Camaro I had in high school!" well how many have said, like perhaps you "I waited 15 years for a Paso""I've always wanted a Paso" etc..., The Paso may have not been a sales success, but it certainly was a marketing success. On ebay right now there about 6 different magazines with the Paso on the cover "Itally declares war on Japan" etc. It's appeal and awareness in the general public always outstripped it's sales success and capabilities. There's only one Ducati that I 've ever really wanted, am I alone? Hardly.
I believe the following: 1) The Paso is not and will not be the most saught after collectable in the future 2)However, the bike is loved and fondly remembered by many, it has a large following 3)While an obscure race bike may bring the most money at auction, there may be 150 true potential worldwide buyers that know what it is. For a Paso there will be 1500 just in the US. Will it sell for $100,000 is 20 years? No, but I'll bet it'll sell for $15,000 or more in todays' dollars.
This is the low ebb of the market. Do yourselves a favor, go buy a 1984 Nissan 300XZ anniversary edition with 60,000 miles for $5,000 and park it. All it takes it what was saught after when young but couldn't afford it, but now older with disposable income and the desire to recapture youth. All something needs is somebody old enough to remember what is, what is was, what it meant, and this statement "I always wanted one, but I couldn't afford it, now I can" (anybody remember the sound an 8 track player makes? Does that take you instantly back?)
I'll hang onto it as planned. I will sell it if and when the market conditions are right. In any case I suspect it will be much better than a 4% interest on a savings accounts. I will tool around on it, show it off, and scrape a knee or two. But it will be returned to true pristine and stay that way.
Did I mention there's 10 inches of snow outside of my front door?

Anyway i wouldnt put my moneys to such Ducatis, as those... Paso is much better invest, cause they are made for driving hardly, not for showrooms with few miles, or kms.... :laugh: Btw, can somewhere find parts to such parallel twin engine? :funny: :funny: :funny:
