Thanks for everyones tips.Im up and running and its spring here.I put about 100 miles on the 907ie today and the only thing concerning me is from a stop position in 1st gear while letting out the clutch I get a screeching sound.It does not happen everytime and all the rest of the shifting is fine but that horrible noise concerns me. HI , same deal on my 907 ,seems to be getting more frequent, started when I went on tour a month or so ago and was loaded up. I think if I made that noise I would be on my deathbed, I also think the same analogy can be drawn on the clutch plates etc. Everything fun is expensive, may have to check and install some thing good from the Barnett site/ebay to shut it all up. Anyone out there have any experience of the noise from hell?

Easy! The clutch is wearing. Later, it will start to slip...
Try removing the clutch cover and blowing the dust away.
The noise has to reduce or disappear.
But, sooner or later....

Hi Guys

I have had this a couple of times on my 907. What it was with mine was the centre nut which holds the clutch basket in place had come loose and the screech was the outer bolts on the basket rubbing against the aluminium cover. The torque setting for this is somewhere are the 130lb/ft mark and the only way I could re-torque the damn thing was to borrow the clutch holding tool from my friendly neighbourhood ducati dealer, as all ducati's are fitted with the same type of basket. One tool fits all!

If this is the problem, also make sure that you renew the washer in the centre, as they are toothed and can wear. It was only about 50p, but well worth the peace of mind.
