The look is not the one of the classic Paso (IMHO), but the engine is strong, the handling is better with the bigger wheels and tire availability is no problem as they are common size. It`s the ideal tourer.

They look to have much larger front discs and Brembo twin pot brake calipers also.

What's the effect of the sculptured front screen on the 907?

Not a lot, depending on how tall you are , was supposed to reduce tubulence ,but all I think it does is break the styling continuity, Get hold of Catalog of Ducati Motorcycles if able, to discern model variables.
And also read up on the tests on this great site.
IMO, (left out the H for legal reasons) the 92 907 is the pick, purely on bias.

Hey Marty, that break in the styling, in your opinion, for the better? As yet I haven't found a pic showing a clear shot of the screen to be able to compare with earlier Pasos.

Ok found a front on pic of the 907 screen, I like it, looks a lot like the NACA style bonnet scoop on my 1986 Brock Commodore.

The duct is a styling excess. In the 80's these were NACA duct:

I am now writing about brakes and MY experiences about 750 and 907IE brakes: I had earlier normal 2 piston (original) system in my 750 Paso(with steel braided lines) and i tought, that it was good, but then i managed to get 907IE black 4 piston system with steel braided lines from one wrecked 907 and i put those 907 front brakes to my 750 Paso with adapters and it really was "huge" improvment to braking..... Good point is also those Paso 750 original normal steel rotors, what are good in wet conditions. Those 907IE stainless rotors are little bad in rain, so its not so bad idea to brake little with front brakes sometimes, when driving with 907 in wet conditions. 906 is worst(with original brakes), because it had same poor 2 piston Brembos, as 750 have, BUT it have much more weight compared to 750 Paso, so its simple worst of Pasos brakes... Remembering, that 906 weight about some 15-19kgs more, that 750 Paso. That cant be without making it to stop more poorly compared to 750 Paso with same brakes..... :smoke: I think, brake upgrade is one of best mods to 750 Paso (surely with electrical improvments, like special realys, etc...)

907IE is better motorbike, than 750 Paso in very many meanings, but honesty have to say, that Tamburini wanted to make Paso with low profile 16" wheels, what surely look much better, than Paso with 17" wheels..... Tamburini was designer and he had such reasons to put low profile tires/wheels to Paso. Injection and brakes are biggest improvments in 907 compared to 750/906. If thinking these days practically, its better idea to find 17" Ducati, than 16" Ducati with tire problems, because seems, that Michelin really have stopped to make those 16" tires..... Surely 907 have much more power, what is good, if You want to drive with passenger alot. 750 Paso dont have enough power for 2 up driving(that is my opinion!!!) BUT IT LOOKS GREAT compared to 907IE... Driving position is quite same, ok, shall we say, that just same....

Johnny,

Andrew-b thought the blue 906 was my bike, but it is not. I live north of Sydney in the same area that bike is for sale.

The 906 definitely requires more attention than most bikes. The good thing is that by the time they have covered 50000km all the problems should have been fixed. The engines are know to be very strong and just need the normal maintenance. The electrics....like I say, get an older bike. Tyres are not a problem in Australia.

Just remember the old Ducati saying "once it starts, all is forgiven!"

I am just under 6 foot and it is one of the most comfortable bikes I have ridden. The suspension is superb (for the pillion as well) and once you set it up properly, no one will catch you on a typical rough Australian road, unless they are on another Ducati.

It is all about the ride, and nothing is like a Ducati to ride!
