Hi all,
I have an interesting situation. Several years ago I bought a 907ie off of the bay. I have had my fun and enjoyed the bike, but now I have a need to sell the bike. Here is interesting bit. The vin shows as a '90, is titled as a '90 and the frame says it was manufactured in 6/89. Also, my insurance seems to think that the VIN is for a 906. So I am guessing that someone had a 906 and a 907ie and for whatever reason put all the 907 stuff on a 906 frame. So since I need to make back my money when selling this bike should I part it out or attempt sell a 906.5 ie. :-P
I guess my real question, besides sell or part-out, is what parts would people on this forum want if I did part it? I would feel good knowing that parts of my bike were all over the world enabling others to enjoy their Ducks a little longer. I live in Denver, CO, USA so shipping could be high to some places. Anyway, thanks all for your thoughts. :)
PS. It has 20k mi on the clock and has no major issues.

I agree with Sam, selling the bike in bits could take years depending upon what people want and will involve lots of additional worj for you. It will also mean one less 907 on the road ( although the counter argumment would apply that breaking it up could keep others on the highway ! )

I'm sure it's a 907 too !!

Good luck

I agree with the friends of the forum.
Before, try to sell the whole bike. I think you'll be able to pick at least $. 3500/4000 up.
If you don't reach to sell it....
Ciao

I actually live only about 50 miles from you and I'm in need of several of the parts you have listed - if you decide to part it out, please hit me up!

Thank you all for your replies. I think now for the time being I will continue to try and sell it. If November comes and I still have it, I may start parting. But like Sam said with the market for those parts fairly limited it may take a long time to sell them all if ever.
Stencil I will keep you in mind if it comes to that.

Thanks again all for the replies.

So Desmo, What are the differences between 806's and 907's besides the wheel size, swingarm, and fuel injection? Isn't the frame basically the same?

Also different M1R forks, brakes.etc.... Frame is "basically same", but both have different weldings to some stuff, what are connected to frame. I would say, that 906 is ONLY 750 Paso with bigger engine(also with much more weight compared to 750 Paso), but 907 is from another planet. :smoke:

it just might be possible to have a 907 with a frame that's max. one year older.
As we know the Paso's both 750 and 906 didn't sell in numbers Ducati hoped for.
Maybe the frame was just a "leftover".
As you said the title says '90, frame build 06/89. Normally automotive starts after summerholiday production for the next year.
Maybe Ducati did the same. I wouldn't worry to much

I have a question on the 1992 907ie Paso Throttle Bodies,

where and how do you get them?

My bike is in need of one set of Throttle Bodies.

Please adice.
