I am missing the four rubber grommets that go into the lower edge of the tank, two on each side. Also, two of the four bullets are missing from the side panels that press into those grommets. I can't quite make it out from the parts book. Drawing no. 34, item 4, p/n 037083020 looks right for the grommet, but the book calls for two only (two for each side, I guess). In drawing no. 35 for the body panels, I don't see the bullets at all.

So my question is, are these parts available, or just improvise from local sources?

Thanks again,

I have recently bought those 4 rubber grommets at the Ducati dealer (yes, they are 2 for every side).
I don't think the bullets of the side fairings were sold as spare part because I don't see them on the parts' catalog.
Ciao

Thanks, Francesco,

Genuine parts + improvisation = ride time!

They are called well nuts. You can prolly find them at HD or Lowes. Maybe a good New England hardware store!

I'm not so sure everyone is talking about the same thing here. Along each side of the bottom of the gas tank are two holes not for Wellnuts, but for something much bigger. They're on the bottom edge, not the front/bottom edge, where the Wellnuts go. On the mating area of my side panels are two sanded down areas that look like they once could have had plastic pins of some sort that snapped into the side of the gas tank. They are very nicely painted, so my bike either never has anything there, or had a accident at some point and the repair shop removed them. I've always figured the latter because, while I can't find any evidence of a crash the bodywork just never fits right.

I'd love to see a pic of what they look like; I'd copy them.

the rubber "top hats" that plug into the fairing (most common type fastener) are often on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/DUCATI-PASO-RUBBER- ... .m63.l1177
I'm not sure on a good supplier for the actual screw??? any ideas???

The slot at the bottom of the tank takes a rubber spacer (I think) to stop the panel "chafing" the tank...[they weren't in mine, either] I made a few plugs from rubber and this does the trick...

Its not so bad idea to look spare part catalogue and write part number here... Then everybody knows, what person means...

Those wellnuts can be found in many hardware stores and cheaper, than from Ducati dealer, what have them also. Normally more of them makes disscount to price (at least here!) :smoke:

He doesn't mean the wellnuts.
He needs those ring shape grommets where the side fairings fix to the tank.
I found them easily at the Ducati dealer because they are also used by other Ducatis, if I well remember.
The fairings' bullets don't are sold as spare part, I guess, but you can buy some used side fairings from 750/906/907 (all the 3 are good) which are sold quite cheaply on eBay or elsewhere.
No matter, you can think something up.
Ciao

Check again You microfilm(like i did just)!

If You need those rubbers to lower part of fuel tank, they ordering code is: 036191730(rubber pad). I think You can get such very easily from Ducati dealer.

Your item number: 037083020 (from U first mail) is totally another rubber, what comes around lower part of frame to protect fairings(inside) agains to hit to frame. Those are not so important....they belong to drawing 23. / part nr. 11.

Tip: there is in the end of microfilm listed ALL spare part numbers and shown right picture / number of part where they are shown..... :smoke:

Btw, dont think too much AMOUNT of parts, cause there are plenty of mistakes/misunderstoods in those.... Order as many, as You need!

Those "bullets" belong to fairings and they are not listed in spare parts, so You can do suchs by Your own hands quite easily....

Surely with lathe is very simple to make such parts, but if You can(WANT!) play with Pasos, then You can also make such easy part from metal in Your garrage table... It takes about 30 mins to make such, if U have some basic tools, not lathe.... Take some beers and time goes faster, when U make it!
