Well, wiggs (hi Melody) the twister left my head (I get migraines you see, real bad - the 2,3,4-day variety) and I figured out how to post pics in posts (real easy, just a lot of clicking as Windows XP takes you through it) and I put up the 'Rossi ritual' pic which I hope people will enjoy.

So I had a look around your part of the world on the net, and it looked lovely. I could easy spend a couple of days there, just on the net. Lots of Indian stuff - except they don't live there anymore - caves and archeology, lovely natural scenes, flowers - even, I think, a song from my youth:

Indian Lake
is a place you should make
in the summer time
When the weather is fine ...

You and Melody were probably still rocking sweetly in your cradles.

hi red,skins and crew,
was asked by my boss how i like it here. i told him i heard another place up the road was hiring! spoke to the plant manager 2-day and was asked the same question and i gave him the same answer. i also told them both that i like it here and had NO plans to look into the other job. told my boss that i want the interview with him to be my last.
the guy who i'm shadowing told me they're probably more worried that i will leave than i am about being let go, so all sounds encouraging. i've been waking at 1:15 A.M. and working 3 to 3 P.M. all week and saturday as well, will only work 8 hours sunday then start this vicious cycle all over again monday. got some bills to catch up on then try and pay the house off but that's a big challenge. i can do the 80-84 hr work weeks for a year or two as it's happened b-4,just hope the opportunity continues to be available, been told it should but...
at this rate the paso is safe and the davidson too along with the rest of the junk. if,and only if this continues i have in the back of my feeble mind a ducati 1000 gt when they come out.hopefully the finances will be in order by then and it will be a reality. worki
ng these hours a feller has to have something to strive for doesn't
he?
skins, you are right about the history around here. i bought a '66 bmw about 5 miles from here about 25 yrs ago (yes,i still have it) and it was yards from where the indians burned col. crawford at the stake, yikes! i don't blame them as the situation was bad at the time. seems the col.'s buddy, geo. washington, sent him up here to stop a mess the white man started and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. read the book"'expidition against the sandusky" and learned alot about our local history. american t.v. as a kid lead us to believe the indians did the scalping but it turns out we,the white man, taught them that trick.
i have a buddy who hunts arrowheads in the fields this time of year.he has a nice collection.i couldn't find one if it jumped out of the ground. i do have some indian pottery pieces i found during my land seismic days in colorado.
i can feel for ya skins on the migranes as melody gets them occasionally,i just hope i'm not the cause of them! i don't get headaches unless i "enjoy" too much scotch. luckily that doesn't happen too much anymore, just wish looking back i wasn't such a slow learner.lost too many nice days in my youth hanging over (the toilet).
enjoyed the poem but not sure about the cradle thing. i see 50 coming fast.that's my new goal for the house as i missed the last target miserably at 45 a few yrs ago.

All sounds good, wiggs.

That wasn't a poem, it was lines from a 'pop' song of about 30 years ago. When I saw 'Indian Lakes' on the map of Ohio, I figured the song must have been about summer trips there.

Wiggsy, great to hear the Paso ( & Hog ) are safe, but i am wondering when you will get time to mount either with the hours you are working. It is always nice to get ahead on the finances though & it does not happen without hard work (in my experience) so good on you mate. If I was your employer I would be concerned about loosing a worker like thath too.

Just on that Scalping thing, it is very much in evidence in every part of the world "Colonised" by the English, yet they state they were civilising the barbarians when they come in & kill all before them for land & riches. Funny but I did not learn this at school or on TV either.

Any way I hope the 1000 GT becomes a reality, it sounds like you will have earned it & I am sure your daughter would agree

Some of the above is a bit extreme for this time and place, isn't it cuz? There are ladies here, you know. A spot of editing might be in order, I'd say.

Yeah you are right Skins, I have edited to make a bit more site appropriate, It is just one of those triggers that sets me off really bad. Especially as our indiginous record in this country is not a good one but it does not appear to be good anywhere the white man has taken over does it? ( I wont get started again).
