Yesterday I met a guy calls himself Paso John, from Malibu, who said he heard a rumor that Michelin will make a batch of Paso tires next year. I'm sorry I couldn't find out more about this, such as where he heard the rumor.
The question is, has anyone else heard this and is there any truth to it? (Sorry, that's two questions, actually.) The rumor is that Michelin intends to make a run of production on a periodic basis, something like every four years, subject to their estimate of the potential market.
For this reason, this thread may be of some use to them. JC, is there a way to forward this thread to a contact at Michelin, together with a tally of our total requirements
As a side note, I made a brief run last weekend with my new, incorrect front, a Pirelli Sport Demon 120/80V16 M/C (60V), supplied by Moto Forza here in Escondido (Calif.), and an NOS rear Michelin M59 160/60V16 I snagged at the Mid Ohio VMD swap meet this past July. Handling seems okay, although I didn't push due to my uncertainty, but of course it doesn't look right. Like some of the others, we had to raise the front fender for proper clearance, so now I'm concerned about hitting the underside of the front fairing. Might have to dial up the anti-dive (which I never used before), so stay tuned...
