Does anyone know if this stator is correct for the 907, or will ir even work. They contacted me and said "it should work". Just want to know if anyone has used it.

Bad service from that company, as 907IE have 350W stator, not 450W unit ! That should be for little newer modells...and it was very expensive also. Why You dont go for Electrex G92 unit ??? U can contact surely to Electrex by mail to ask more details about fitting and availability....

There have been very many different stator modells in Ducatis, so you have to be sure, what fits to 907. I havent ever need to change stator to my bikes yet, but i thrust 100% to Electrex units as i have they regulators in my bikes and they work 100%

I had my stator rewound and now have power. It checked out to .4 ohms yellow to yellow. at 1000 rpm 46vac, at 3000 rpm 92vac and at 5000 rpm 116vac. I replaced the regulator, but still have no charging, and the regulator heated up. Possible a short to ground somewhere, but I can't find it. I ran a separate ground from battery to regulator base, and a separate power lead to regulaor, but still not charging. Ran Electrex diagnosis and the regulator checks good. Any ideas?

I am not an electrical person but this is what I did. Stator was good so checked all wires from stator to where they terminated and found 2 hidden fried stator wires. These wires get real hot and if not insulated (wrapped) and connected just right, can go bad. I actually had 3 wires and connectors melted together but were inside covered wires and not visible. So check the obvious and you might get lucky like I did.

Check plus and minus wires from regulator to battery 100% !
Check just those earlier mentioned wires from stator to regulator 100% ! That is most common problem in very many 907, as those round connectors close radiator start have shit and so resistant and at end they run very hot and smelt and if bad luck, then they make shotcut to earth and stator is gone then.... You have to check and measure ALL WIRES 100%.. Sometimes happen, that if You loose stator, You loose also regulator..... had happen to very many Ducati owners... Btw those round connector between stator and regulator have to take away and weld and WELL insulate and then no problems anymore.....

I replaced the wires from the stator to the regulator and soldered the connections. I also ran a separate ground from the regulator to the battery and another ground from the mounting plate to the battery. I think I will open up the wiring harness that the original stator wires were in and see if I have more melted wires in there.

Found a short in the wiring harness under the tank, probably from stator wires melting. Now have 13.6 volts at battery,at 2000rpm, but the charge lamp stays on? Does anyone know anything about this?

13.6 volts at 3500 rpm. I say screw the light. Now I've had a fuel pressure reulator fail. I could have bought an ST4 for what I've spent on this bike.

Hi Preston -- I can relate on the 907, but that's the way it is with a "collectible" right? It's kinda like me and my '94 Impala, I could sell it for $4000 maybe, and every year I sink about $1500 into it (brakes, exhaust, whatever), but I like the car.

I have 50,000 miles on my 92 907. I replaced my stator and rotor with unit from Electrosport.com because they are OEM supplier.
The wires on the alternator get real hot if they are corroded. Check the connectors on the frame behind the hoses at the thermostat. Check the connector at the steering head bundle. If they are corroded, clean them, if they need replacing, I used a connector for wiring a trailer because the wires where the same size. You will have to solder the connector to the wires. If there is no corrosion, the wires will be cooler, you can touch them comfortablely.

After all these years, the wire group from the stator to the regulator is cracked, melted and broken. I'll be using as much wire, shrink wrap and new connectors as necessary to restote the harness.

However, as I peel away the shroud from the stator wire, there are two yellow wires (as expected) and one RED WIRE that I did not expect. Obviously, I have not pulled the Stator cover because the electrics worked just fine when I started the restoration.

Does anyone have any idea about the purpose of the red wire?
