Post subject: New to the boards. About to own a 750 paso. Posted: Thu May 14, 2009 12:52 pm |

Hey guys. Quick question. I am about to make a trade for a 750 89 paso. It will be my second bike. First being a hand me down honda rebel 250. I am only planning on riding this bike for a month. Then I going to sell it. I was wondering, are these bikes sought after? Would be easy finding a buyer? The bike is in good condition, so I am imagining it would retain a good resell value. Am I right? Do you guys think i would be better off parting it, and selling? I would rather sell the bike as a whole. In case anybody is interested, I live in the north east region of the U.S. Long Island New York.

A good 750 Paso is worth about $2.5-3K generally. Lots of things play into the price tho.
Parting a Paso is against the law in every nation. Those that do it are going to spend eternity up to their chins in LAVA!!
I know of someone looking to buy on in the Philly area. He has a limited budget but you could possibly make a quick turn and make some $$ on it. Do not PART it....

Thanks. I was unaware that it was a sin to part it. Thanks for the heads up. Ill keep in touch. When am ready to sell I will let you know. Maybe I should have the bike in my possession before making any statements.

getting a Paso for one month only not knowing what you`re getting into is not very smart. As Jon said value`s impacted a lot by many details. It might be good looking but technically a lemon. Reselling may not be so easy as the Paso split the Ducati community with its looks. You`ll need to find a real fan. Also prices don`t really move that much so it isn`t an object for an investment like some other old bikes. If there isn`t a maintainence record or something like that value will be lower and you risk that the belts are old and dry, snapping and breaking the engine making the bike totally worthless. So you should do a full check up before even riding it the first time. Not to forget that the tires on the bike will be old and should be changed (no matter how much thread they still have) and these are unavailable. Leave her alone, get yourself something reasonable and leave the Paso to someone who really appreciates it. No offense.
