I was answering Slocum's post about putting together a list of bits to convert a set of newer Ducati wheels to the Paso. Call it the Conversion Kit.
If we put that list together, and get it quoted from a reasonable machine shop, the speculation is that it would be less than $1k.
The ideal would be to have one shop make the entire kit, minus the wheels.
If anyone has all the files, I will talk to Jon Nichols, owner of Nichol's Mfg., who makes all kinds of nifty aftermarket bits for the Ducati. His quality is top notch, and I could probably talk him into making some kits. Now all we need is the BOM (bill of materials) and the CAD files.

I went searching on Bauke's site to get the CAD files for the brake adapters, but all of his links are broken.

seems price of t6 aluminum plate is up a bit so will be more like 200 a wheel for material just a minor update

I have today made an initial contact with an outfit today located in Delaware about converting our 16 inch wheels to 17 inch. Looking to keep an unfinished wheel in the 500 dollar a wheel range out the door. These guys also do finish work. What I could use some help with as I am currently working my arse off is what 17 inch tires will fit without any other mods but to the wheels. Any one had time to find the answers?
Will standard 17 inch tires fit 17x5.5 and 17x3.75 wheels and our Paos's or do we need a smaller width? No one I have found so far has any interest in converting to wider widths which I feel would defeat the purpose of a straight up taller wheel anyway as that would require many other mods. My idea is K.I.S.S. a simple bolt on conversion.

Almost all modern motorcycles have 3.5" front, with a 120 tire, and a 4.5, 5.0, or 5.5" rear rim. The supermoto crowd uses 4.25" with a 150 tire. With the 4.5, a 160 tire is recommended. 5.5" rims usually use a 170 or 180 tire.

Bummer. Got a reply today,the outfit I contacted is no longer interested in working with Motorcycle wheels outside of powder coating. Will have to try another.

I was just thinking about this thread yesterday while out riding my Paso. I noticed halfway through my ride that my rear tire is right at the wear bars. It's wearing fairly evenly from edge to edge, and the front tire is getting thin on the left and right of center. I'm disappointed that the tires only have 2800 miles on them, though. I was really hoping for a bit more than these are getting.

I tend to run my tires until they have bald sections or I see cords, so I'm only expecting another 500 or so miles before I need to replace them. If we can find a fairly inexpensive way to modify the 16" wheels to 17" diameters, I would be quite tempted to go that route. I do have almost all the parts I need for a 17" conversion, but I'd rather not spend the time on that when I have other projects around. I was thinking about just using an alternate tire size in the meantime, as some others have been doing.
