Hello to all you Paso enthusiasts from a new Paso owner who is facing the age old problem of tyres.
I have been quietly reading some of the posts on this esteemed site before i finally came out of the closet :!: and joined the ranks, so that with your help i can get this blue beauty back on the road
Question :?: Will the following tyre sizes fit the Paso without modification of any sort as i have been reliably informed by an on-line tyre dealer  :?: Front 120/80/16 and for the rear 150/80/16 they are Avon Road somethings! any body tried them? - do they work / look right on the Paso?
Any help would be much apprecited as there is no way the current set are going to pass the MOT test.
Best regards to all John

so, congratulations! now please tell us about your tires. what did you install and how do they fit?? i would think the 80 sizes would be too tall for swingarm and for front fender. i'm looking for a pirelli sport demon 120/70 - 16 M/C 57P TL and a pirelli sport demon 150/70 - 16 M/C 68S TL, but i'm unable to find them. thanks for sharing! best wishes, randy.

Yes thank you, sorted with correct fitment tyres ie. 130/60/zr16 front 160/60/zr16 rear thanks to connection on this list, i haven't received them yet but i think they will fit just as Dr. Ducati ordered!
Now i just have to find a replacement headlight (uk) as the glass is broken, this is a real shame as the rest of the headlight is perfect; i note the glass lens is just stuck in with sealant, can replacements be bought seperately? long shot i know. Thanks. John

Well, son of a gun, you lucky so and so. Who's got those tires for sale? Again, nice job procuring the tires. Of course, you'll never make it out of this forum alive...
Say, there is currently a headlight lens for sale in the US on eBay.I believe I've been seeing it there for about a week. Good luck, and don't hold out on us! Best, Randy

there are currently 4 headlights on ebay UK, here are 2:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/YAMAHA-FZ-750-FZ7 ... 53de3102a4

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/yamaha-fz-750-hea ... 3358857d17

Regarding tires sizes 120/80, 120/70, 150/70 are all a no go. If 16" there are no other alternative options rather than 130/70, 150/80, 180/60. (150/80 is doable but actually not for that rim size so I personally don`t see that as an option, same as original size tires 5 years and + of age)

Hello Chaps,
Well i seem to have stirred up a bit of a hornets nest regarding the tyres  i will 'spill the beans' once the deal is complete (i have them in my possesion) it is not my intention to upsett anyone.
Thank you very much for the headlight links on fleabay G (paso750) i take it that they are exactly the same unit as used on the Paso  i hope so as i have done a deal off ebay for one of them!! i also have a NOS indicator lense sorted and a pair of new belts are coming from MDINAITALIA, so it was well worth joining this list, thanks.
I am also on the Bevel heads list (have a 750 GT roundcase  ) and they have also been very helpful in helping me restore my bike to a rider, it never ceases to amaze me the depth of knowledge that is available amongst the forum members or their willingness to help a fellow enthusiast who is usually a complete stranger.
I note that the established list members don't use the smilies much :,( please be patient with me until the novelty wears off
The more i look at this Paso the more i like it, the design of the bodywork was way ahead of it's time, i have to say that in the past i never gave them a second look (to radical then)? prefering the look of the 'naked' singles and twins; also i can't believe how pettite she is without her clothes on ;)
Replacing belts looks straight forward enough? any quirks or points to note?
Cheers for now. Happy John

Hey Ethan,
The fender mount is also a fork brace on the Paso. You should consider changing your nylon spacers to metal and torquing it correctly, as there are some side to side forces there the nylon won't be strong enough to withstand the forces. The flex will start to hog out your threaded holes in the fork legs.

Cheers,

Hey Tool,
nice collection of tires. Storing tires should be kept as cool as possible, and they should be stored on their sides and stacked if possible. Storing them on edge will create flat spots over time. And of course, avoid sunlight. (UV).

Cheers,
