EDIT: You'll want to find the switch wires and short them to verify everything else is working, before you start buying parts you may not need....

I'd be interested in hearing what Bevel Heaven gets for that rear switch.

As for your front, you can use the same banjo bolt switch like you'll be using on the rear, or you can buy a micro switch from any number of bike wreckers, like my friend, Dr Bob, he runs Trump Motors on FleaBay. Great guy. Be sure to request he includes the machine bolts and nuts that hold it onto the master cyl. You'll also need to find the red and green/black wires under the tank, they are your brake light wires for the front.

The rear brake light switch on my Paso gave up last week. I found a cheap replacement in Western Power Sports. $20 and my local dealer had it the next day:

http://shop.alljet.com/productdetail.ht ... cts=564257

Part number for WPS is 56-4257

I'm also using one of these on a Brembo Radial Master Cyl on one of my other bikes. My radial cyl doesn't include a provision for a brake light switch, so this is an easy fix for that....

ANOTHER EDIT: I'm going to slip this info in here, in case it helps, or if I need it again! The WPS 56-4254, or K&S 12-0013, is a banjo bolt pressure switch for 2 lines, in the proper 10mm x 1.0 pitch. So it can be used directly on the front master cylinder, when running separate brake lines to the front calipers.

Well my learning curve on brake light switches is really steep. Thanks for the EBay connection, and for the Western Power Sports website: that one looks like a great replacement if mine is faulty. Nice Price. I've found the wires for the switch up front and I'll have to find the best solution once I learn about the different types. I really appreciate all you time, consideration and valuable knowledge. How can I repay the kindness? Best to All, Randy.

delagem, you wrote "I would be very interested in hearing how that brake light works! I've got a few uniquely engineered setups, but always like to see other methods." in reference to a brake light switch for my front brakes
(I have a non stock Goldline Brembo master cylinder w/ remote reservoir). At first I did not see a switch at the master cylinder or anywhere else, but today upon a closed inspection of my brakes lines I did find an inline switch at the splitter for the left and right calipers just up inside the front fairing, and it is non functioning as well, but at least I know what to replace. So, thanks for instigating my detective work and for sending me down the path to a safer ride. best, Randy.

Interesting! Can you post a pic of it?

I'm always making various swaps, like the later model Brembos on the Paso, Kawi master cyl's onto my 900ss, or the radial onto the YSR, so I'm interested in seeing potential choices for these things...

Hello again Delagem:

I finally took a photo of my Paso's front brake light switch, and I've posted it in my online gallery as a picture in the Ducati Paso album. It's the last picture and you see it no doubt. I've shorted out the green and red wires to confirm that the switch is broken, so I'll be needing to replace it as well as the rear. Man, I've got to clean that area up. It's amazing what the camera reveals on an old bike.

By the way, I went to an event in Hopland, Mendocino county on a 300 mile trip with my Paso this past Saturday which was held by an interesting fellow who has an amazing collection of Ducatis, Moto Guzzis, Gileras and Mondials including a '73 750 Sport, a '74 750 Super Sport, a 750 F1 Montjuich, a '94 Super Mono, a'94 916 SP, and a 2001 MH900e. I won't even mention the models from the other makes. But what was really interesting was what was in Peter's cupboard. You're with me: yes it was two pairs of A59 and M59 Michelins. He swore up and down that he knows for a fact from a friend who works as a V.P./Marketing/Michelin that they will make another run of these tires in a year or so. He said this to me twice on two separate days. He also offered me one of his sets at cost if I so desired. I'll have to keep in touch with him.

Just wanted to mention this because of our mutually shared interest.

Best, Randy.

If I remember correctly it was 23usd for the rear brake light pressure switch from Bevel Heaven

Very interesting piece! Looking at the fiche, I guess that does indeed appear to be stock? Hard to tell.

I don't know, I was oblivious when I owned my first Paso 20 years ago, and my latest Paso didn't come with the OEM brake cyl...

I do see that the microfiche calls for 2 different switches, though.

Front switch: Fiche Tav18 079654116
Rear switch: Fiche Tav21 079654114

Been a while but I believe I had to re terminate the wiring to match but no other issues and it works just fine.
