My engine has 3 holes on the back. 2 small ones are on the height of the swingarm axle (I wonder if these are original) and there`s a big one on the bottom right. My friends Cagiva Elefant 900 engine doesn`t have any of these.

it looks like there would be. Meanwhile I can“t check anymore as the swingarm and shock are back in place.

Hi,
For two of them I would guess someone has created threaded holes for grease points to the swingarm pivot?
But I can't think what the third would be.
I don't have them on any on the various two valve crankcases I have.
Curious,
Mick

I have them on my engine too. I assumed the two at the top were either for non-installed grease fittings or to clamp the swingarm axle for ?? reason. Have no clue on the bottom one.

ok, that`s good to now. So they are probably original. Are yours open or is there a hex screw inside ? I was also thinking about grease fittings.

I'm pretty sure they have hex screws in them. I have a photo of the engine while I had mine apart but the resolution is not good enough to tell for sure.

I happened to look at my spare engine and it appears that there are roll pins in the 2 small holes.... the other large one not sure what it was intended for, maybe an oil line?
