Hamish, if you have the license then you must know it would take much much more than a drop to cool the metal enough to shrink out a dent, I guess it will be a while till you recover from ingesting all those substances at once Now as far as liquid nitrogen goes it took one cup full to pop a typical parking lot door ding, and we had to take the door off to do it so that the nitrogen pooled over the ding. also to note the paint had lots of spyder cracks we had to fix with a solvent when we finished. On our practice dings the paint actually popped off as the ding popped out We learned to pour the nitrogen slowly to allow the metal to cool at as close a rate to the paint as possible. In the end the normal working the metal with the proper tool is way more economical and predictable but no where near as much fun

So you need heaps huh ? Id never even thought of "freezing " out a dent so I have no idea how much you'd need ,but a cup full of R anything would be out of the question

Hi Claude , Yes I have spent years installing and repairing split systems and doing domestic refrigeration, ( good old F&P ) but I had never heard of freezing out a dent till Higgy's post, but Di tells me her father used to do it , when she was a kid , he was a panelbeater so there you go

I have been servicing F&P whiteware ( amongst other things ) for nearly 25 years now, and yeah , I have often thought of "jumping the ditch " but you guys have way to much bitey things over there for me , and ( fair suck of the sav,Colin )a man cant even have decent set of guns to keep the wombats and billabongs off his didgeredo, and besides you have already got enough clever kiwi's over there to keep you going

since the port arthur shootings (massacre) in 96 they have tightened up the gun laws here...just as well, we dont want any more trigger happy cowboys coming over here...we have enough already

Following up on the swing arm extension, the pervious owner simply cutting the swing arm and adding in an inch segment behind where the exhaust covers it from view. Not the most attractive way of doing it, but it seems to work fine and with the right tire on the front also, it seems to handle ok.

As for the liquid nitro idea? I love the theory, but where do you get it from these days?

I got my first speeding ticket the other day, in a tunnel where cars are not likely to pull out on me. Bugger!

Tunnels and Ducatis tend to ix well in the sound department but not in the speeding department - Lime house link in London is particularly good acoustically but very bad for cameras especially after one of the magazines did a feature based in there some years ago
