a friend of mine was overhauling his Marzocchi M1R Fork when he noticed that one of the stanchions si 20mm shorter than the other.

he asked me if this was normal, u8nfortunately I never disassembled personally my M1R (not yet anyway) , therefore I do not have an answer

from memory I know they are different as ona has the "antidive", but I always though they would be the same LENGTH

Should be same length. The shorter leg is possibly from an 851. I suspect the 851 forks have more travel too.

the fork legs should be the same length when wheel is taken off, I know that as I have a second M1R set sitting in the coner...could it be that one spring has lost its spinginess (is that an english word?) ...ie, if you pull the shorter leg out does it come level with the other?

the only way to see if the stanchions are the same length is by disassembling the fork and put them side by side.

I did some research and apparently the left with the "antidive" System is shorter than the right by approx 20mm

I saw some pictures posted here and "by eye" it seems this difference is confirmed.

is there ANYONE in UK wanting to part with a set of stanchions for the 907?

Ive got a spare set of legs you can borrow and maybe buy if I go upside down in a few months. They need new seals (which I have) to be fitted. Theyre for 320mm discs and have done 50,000m Im in Brentwood Essex.
