Luca,
Many thanks for your response too!
I have, previously, read some of your previous postings and it is all interesting stuff and I will ensure that I check that everything is standard and that the transmission is 'in line'!
As per my previous posting I have already begun to strip the bike and have yet to, thoroughly, assess the damage and I have already phsyched myself up to expect the worst case scenario possible, (then if things are not quite as bad then things are looking up)!
I have already had two, (local), offers for the re-welding and I fully appreciate the need to find a piece of Paso crankcase for 'testing' purposes - else what started as a 2cm x 1cm gap soon becomes a 20cm x 10cm write off!
Once I have convinced MS Frontpage 2003 to publish my web site, (correctly), I will post a regular diary so that you can all experience the emotions, (that I am sure to experience), during the forthcoming restoration!
And I am sure that I will have many further questions to put to the group, (such as how the dash is supposed to be mounted - as mine is just a 'push fit' between a framework of foam rubber and that can't be right)!
I may attempt to remove the engine, tomorrow, as I am not due to return to work untill Wednesday, and I am hoping that I will not have to cut anything else off in order to get it out!
Was in your 'neck of the woods', (four weeks ago), as Julie and I visited Rome, (for the first time), but did not have time to visit Bologna on this particular occasion!
Take care and ride safely!
