Afternoon gents, forgive me for the redundancy; I did a couple quick searches and didn't come up with much.
I'd like to start a thread of riders favorite touring accessories with the main focus on luggage, tank bags, and bike accessories preferably with pics if you have them. Feel free to post your most valuable accessories and a review if you'd like. Thanks for your time and consideration.

The majority of posters on here seem to have their bikes in bits or don't do much touring on their 907's. Mines off the road for a few months while I have my(2;1) silencer resleeved and repacked and also some other jobs. The last time I went away on the Fatbike as its affectionately called(UK to Monza 2,500miles 2up) I used a mag tankbag for my stuff and a bag strapped to a rack for hers. We travel very light with 3 sets of clothes with spares, tools and waterproofs tucked in and on the bike.

Easy!
Tank bag and harness - Baglux and they're still production.
Panniers are more difficult!
Soft ones I have used Givis and they go well. For hard luggage your only option now I think is Hepco and Becker

Not for a 907 but a paso just the same.........

I had an Eclipse tank bag from the era that got lots of use between the ducati and an interceptor. By the time I bought my 01 KTM it had worn thin, and the foam tank pad disintegrated from age. For the KTM I bought a pair of tank panniers from aerostitch and KTM's LC-4 tank bag. I was not a big tourer but did take a couple 700-800 mile trips on the limited (one straight through, one I overnighted due to a couple hours in a downpour and being saturated). Other things used were Seal-line and other waterproof bags from REI, a large and small duffle, bungee nets, and various velcro or fastex buckeled straps. I have two pair of clips that slip over the bottom edge of a seat pan. These make bungee net or strap use easy, are temporary, do not mark the seat or body work up, making it possible to strap things down to the seat without worrying about straps wearing on the bodywork).

Ortlieb makes some nice dry bags. I have two messenger bags but they make panniers and other duffles too.

I don't know if that helps any. They were mostly things I threw together on spur of the moment for trips. It all worked nicely. I could fit a big brown bag full of groceries in the Eclipse tank bag when exteneded and often used it for store runs like that. Loaded on trips it provided a nice resting position when leaning forward at highway speeds. Were I to buy more bags, I think I'd look at Wolfman, Kriega, and MotoFizz. Another thing that has been a staple item for me is the Recon Wrap from Brigade Quartermaster(actiongear.com). It makes a good sweat wicking helmet liner, headwear to hide the helmet hair, or face/neck protection on chilly days.

This is what I managed to get working - barely holds a helmet - I think I paid $40.00 for both of them - used.

Here is a link to the rest of my 'Paso' photos, including more of the soft bags, on my Flickr page . . .

I have always used a magnetic tank bag, even for overnights.

Thanks fellas! Some years ago I had seen some soft bags on a 907 that looked great with a matching tank bag; I just remembered the name RKA out of Cali. Funny thing is I googled "ducati 907 with soft bags" and a thread from a forum pops up the RKAs name... Take a look, some nice stuff.. http://www.rka-luggage.com/A01%20Products/prod.html

hi, I have a set of the RKA bags, side and tank, red with desmo on them. Haven't used them, just got them 'cos'.
[translation= I collect all sorts of bits that are related to the bike but may never use them!]
then agin I might use them when the second 907 is running.

If you have a look at the 'Givi top box' posts, page 6, I just posted some pics on what I use.

Ortlieb panniers and tank bag. Givi top box, a dry sack bag for the tent etc.

The Ortliebs are brilliant, totally water proof, the RKAs you would need to pack you items in plastic or dry bags. I glued some sheep skin to the backs of them so they don't scratch the rear plastics.

I use a Air Hawk cushion to protect the butt!

Garmin Zumo for navigation, limited sucess, first one stopped working on my 5 day tour last year, replacement won't bluetooth to my headset at the moment....

Biggest issue is wind noise, thinking on a fix!! If I stand up at 130kmh its all quiet, sit down and I get blasted under the helmet.

ciao
