Thanks for all the compliments! The Metzeler is riding nice with the axle in the lower position. And yes jayh I have to keep it fully inflated to keep it handling smoothly IMO. jayh do you ride with the axle in the lower or upper position?

Lower position feels right for me,I don't ride to crazy anymore, and it doesn't rain much over here,so I'm not out in the wet,but I've got wear to within 5mm of each edge of the tyre and it hangs on well. J.

Hi,
Here the latest tire dimension/shape update.
I’ve colored the shapes to show the differences. The color reference is at the left of the table.

Further Information is welcome. I’m still interested in getting input for the dimension 150/80/16, and also about the handling of all of the other tires (especially Dunlop).
When I got it correct also with the Metzeler ME needs some on the inner handlebar to get it around the corners?

Jayh,

Which front tyre do you use? I'll need to replace the tires this year because my Paso is still on a (tired) set of Michelins. I like the sound of the Metzeler 880 for the rear, but I'm curious what you have up front.

Cheers,

Mike

It's a dunlop sportmax gpr 200f 130/70/16 ,Mike. My selection was based on price more than anything.

Yes the Metzeler rear does need some countersteer to get around tight corners pasoalf, but I think you'll find that the front fork rake of the paso contributes much to this, as my 600 pantah has had the forks raked for racing by a previous owner and it is very similar to ride with much narrower tyres. No doubt the wide rear tyre contributes to this as well, but I don't think you will totally eliminate it so I'm happy to ride it the way it is.Many bikes require this style of cornering it is not just a Paso thing,Mastering the skill will make for safer riding on any bike. J.

Hi jayh,
Thanks for the input. As already mentioned, I bought a 906 which still has an original almost “new” Michelin. As the geometry of the 750 and 906 are the same, it has to be the tire. No contersteering with the 906.
I still try to get some Input about the 150/80/16 tires. Will decide where to go afterwards.
A 180 looks nice, but I ride more than I look at my bike. So handling has priority. I’ ve still fun doing Quick turns.

That is strange as I too just swapped from an original pirelli mp7 that required plenty of countersteer and was no easier to ride than the metzeler ? Jay.

No Coutersteering with this combination:
Front: CONTINENTAL CONTI-SPORTATTACK 130/70/16
Rear: Original Michelin (160/16/16)

Below you find the latest dimension overview (news on Avon Azarro 150/80/16; Tnk's Hardo)

Not sure whether these have been mentioned before.
http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/motor ... .tab?tab=8

It's only a 120 front and 150 rear but might work.

Cheers
Andrew

Hi Jaap

I am using the same tire combination since 2010. I am very happy and everything works fine.

There are no clearance problems; however, it is a 906 Paso and things may be different (engine size is different, fork is longer) compared to the 750.

I did use a 15 / 40 sprocket combination, but changed now to a 14 / 41, which is perfect for my kind of driving with the Paso. Both combinations fit in my case without any modifications (the chain needs to have 108 links).

I gave some information in the 906 section on the avon azaros and my experience so far with this modifications.

All the best, Hardo

Hello all.
Sorry for my English not perfect.
I use google translator to help me.
is some time since I last wrote on the forum.
In the past I have written many sellers of tires in Italy.
Now I've come to know through this forum that has produced tires for Goldentyre Paso 750.
GoldenTyre 160/60 ZR16 58W GT071
GoldenTyre 130/60 ZR16 58W GT070
I am very happy.
Unfortunately Goldentyre seems to send the tires only in Italy and a few other nations.
In June, after about four years I have contacted a company,
saying that the tires were Goldentyre also available on their web site.
The price looks the same for the front and slightly higher for the rear, even if the delivery appears to be less than that of Goldentyre.
I inform you, because surely this company can ship the tires Goldentyre outside Italy.
Faithfully carry the mail received:

Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXXXXXXX,
to inform you that we have available covers from 16 "for Ducati, the company that produces them is the Goldentyre, when we have a small sampling that we have yet to try since it's a model just came out.
The new covers are already published in our web catalog http://www.nikpneumatici.com

Contact her, who knows they can ship the tires out of Italy

A hello to all those owners PASO 750
