That should let that rattly clutch noise out a bit. Oh, and the dust too.

I thought about doing that too but as the thrust from the slave piston is centred in the middle of that inner ring of holes you drilled and being only ally I decided against it , ( did you get 1/2 way round before you thought of that too ? ) . How did you get on with sorting the functional issues you had with the clutch ?

the clutch cover has ribs all inside it that make up for most of the strength, and its really thin between those ribs, so i wasn't too worried about it.

as for my clutch problem....i removed the non factory master that was on it and ordered a paso clutch master. there was a lot of gunk in the old one and when i took it apart there was leaves and trash....so, i got the correct master on the way. thanks for asking!! should fix the issue right up! then be back on the road as soon as the new sprocket retainers show up.

It's a great feeling to imagine something that is well designed and unique for one of our motorcycles and to then execute that action or design, then sit back and enjoy the outcome from a functional and aesthetic personal point of view. I have cut away much alloy and drilled many holes and chopped off plenty of plastic and steel while adding one-off custom bits and bobs to my Bonneville much to my distraction and to the displeasure of those less inclined. I am happy for you. We must enjoy ourselves!

Hamish, you can do a lot more on the clutch cover w/o weaking its structure. These are mine.


But it`s always sad to modify a perfectly good clutch cover as these are becoming rarer and more expensive by the day.

of course things can be overdone, then it`ll break and you`ll have to improvise (found on the internet a while ago)

Aw crap ! that's the last thing I needed to see, I got enough on my plate at the moment with out that trying to que jump the list of things to be done , wouldn't end there either ,if I could see the clutch Id need to make it a whole lot prettier too Mmmmmmmm
